Let me start by saying I am a huge Larry Fitzgerald fan. Love the guys impact on the organization and how he conducts himself both on and off the field.

That being said, he looks disinterested and isn't showing himself as the leader he should be. Sure it's got to be incredibly frustrating dealing with this quarterback situation, but when you just signed the highest non quarterback contract in the history of the league just 16 months ago, you rise above that stuff and give it your all.

Maybe he needs to spend a little less time traveling the world every offseason and more time rededicating himself to football 100%. Maybe he needs to take a lesson from Larry Bird who back in the 80's would show up at 5:00 in the morning for a workout the day after winning the NBA Championship.

Fitz talked about being overweight during training camp. Maybe he should not be gone abroard for 3 months after the season ends. Any chance a perfectionist like Jerry Rice would have taken 3 months off?

I'm just frustrated right now. Fitz is awesome and he isn't close to the problem, but right now he isn't part of the solution either.

practicing more is supposed to put him in a better mood about being one of the best WRs in the game, but stuck on the 2nd worst offense? That stuff is in his head man. Maybe he needed to travel more and get his mind right? I don't know. This team (offense) really needs to get out of it's funk though. I have no idea how they should go about it though

He is the LEAST of our problems.

Let me reword that. He is not a problem. If every player was on this team was as prepeared as Fitz we would be a better team.

Did he show some frustration today. Absolutely....but even aliens have feelings. :)

A real QB would be a start! No chance in this league without one.

I'd be frustrated too after having played with a HOFer then this now!! Enough of it!

Exactly. What a wayyyyy over reaction Sunday this has been!

I agree he isn't the problem, but when you sign the highest non quarterback contract in the history of the league and end up with 1 catch for 11 yards, have 2 drops and don't pay attention on a fumble that costs your team a touchdown, you deserve a little bit of scrutiny.

He also ran a route that broke the defenders ankles so bad he was wide open in the endzone.

He scored a TD on that play but he can't throw it himself.

Overreaction.

He is fine.

The passes sailing over his head make him look not fine.

Zen.

I'm amazed he has handled himself this well with the QB situation every since Warner left. He has one game where he is not able to follow through on an amazing catch and someone thinks he needs to evaluate his game? This thread is the epitome of overreaction

My theory on his drops and what not this season:

He's so shocked when the ball actually is somewhere that he can catch it that he doesn't know what to do with himself.

I kind of agree with the post here. Yeah this isn't what Fitz signed up for and maybe it's not working out like he planned however he IS getting big bucks and the situation is what it is so he still needs to put out maximum effort ans since he is one of the elder spokesman on the offense he needs to set an example that no matter how bad it gets you still need to put forth your best effort all of the time and I think Fitz is starting to lose interest a bit given the situation the offense is in.

I totally agree he is not a problem however when he has a history of always giving it his all and he hits a point where maybe he is so frustrated he slacks off a bit guess what the other players are going to notice this and ask themselves a question. if Fitz is showing signs of giving up as small as they may be why should we give it our all?

Fitz sets the standard for effort on this team so he has placed himself in a position that others look to. He needs to make sure he maintains that standard.

He's not gone 3 months. (I read his tweets.) I also read the tweets of other players and their interviews. Again and again they mention Larry as their mentor and leader and friend.

Get Larry a quarterback who can throw the ball to the same zip code as his target and this thread goes away.

I'll play devils advocate here by agreeing he needs to stop rolling his eyes and all this theatrics when passes go over his head. Justified yes, but won't help the next pass coming from a young qb

When it happens over & over that's what athletes do...I've done it...everyone whose played sports on a struggling team has done it. It's no biggie until those expressions become words of anger.

Did anyone else find it rather ironic that Skelton gets yanked for missing Fitz on a wide open TD after Fitz is seen rolling his eyes in sheer frustration...and the team's chances for winning ends on a perfectly thrown fade pass that Fitz normally pulls down with relative ease?

Not really. Skelton's miss was the QB equivalent of this:

Fitz is his own harshest critic. He did an interview with Gayle Jensen after the game and actually said (with a straight face) he needed to do a better job of getting out of his break and getting to the ball that Skelton threw out of the side of the endzone.

Then he even went on to take the blame for the fumble returned for TD by saying he should have not stopped playing even though he thought he heard a whistle and tried to jump on top of the ball.

He's trying to be a good leader every way he possibly can. The guy can only do and say so much though. The frustration has to be pretty close to becoming all-consuming at this point.
