Just a real quick blog between interview sessions: Coach Ken Whisenhunt downplayed the argument between receiver Anquan Boldin and offensive coordinator Todd Haley in the second half, calling it a heat of the moment situation. He thinks it will have no carryover and that the incident is over and done with. Quarterback Kurt Warner also said he thinks the Boldin dust-up is nothing big. "I don't think there's an issue," he said. Warner said he and Haley argue so much on game day...

wonder if Q will address this anytime soon so the media can get back to their ways of doubting the Cards....maybe it's better this came up, now the Cards at least will get some media coverage for the next 2 weeks.

Did you guys play the video or just read the article?

In the video, JJ Arrington clearly states everything was fine after the game.

Y'all is seriously overreactin'.

Did you expect him to say anything other then that. Did you expect anyone to say, I hate his guts. No matter what is going on behind closed doors they are not going to throw out negative comments. Players and Coaches a like are not going to say a single bad thing no matter what is really happening, which is what they should do by the way.

To point to any quote from any player as evidence of anything for any side of the debate will fall flat because of that.

It will be the actual actions that tell the story not the quotes.

i am huge Quan Fan. I had his jersey custom made during his rookie year. I don't fault him for being upset. That is why many of us love to watch him play. I fault him for how he showed it. And even that is tolerable in the heat of it all. I read Haley's lips and he said "Don't call me that" at one point. Not just yelling, but name calling? I wince a little at what that exchange may have actually entailed!!

By the way, Kudos to Haley. Not just for the presser afterward, but normally you see this and the coordinator stares at his clipboard and ignores him while other players pull the angry star back. Haley turned around and let Quan know who was in charge and what was happening!!!

But the post game is inexcusable. Quan's biggest asset to this team was his heart and leadership. Fitz was always a quiet guy, but I think this postseason you saw the potential changing of the guard from Leader Q to Leader Fitz. Perhaps even Q felt it and was frustrated. But for some reason after the game her forgot this is why he signed back here. This is why he signed for less. This is why he came back from injury so fast. This is why he plays hurt and why he lobbied free agents to come. Too bad he forgot that for a few minutes.

If Boldin ******* about his contract or threatens to hold out, I say let him. He has no leverage in the situation anymore, as the team can play well without him.

Rod Hood said Anquan got caught in the heat of the moment and that Anquan is on the same page as the team and is extremely excited to have this opportunity to win a Super Bowl.

Regardless of whether or not the incident with Q happened yesterday, the Cards are going to have a decision on what to do with him in the offseason.
He's either going to get paid, traded, or he is going to hold out. What happened yesterday may make the getting paid option a little less likely but time will tell.

Basically said:

-- haley didn't feel he could run like they wanted him to, he felt perfectly healthy so got angry
-- main goal has always been to get this team super bowl, why he came back from facial injury
-- didn't leave threw back door during celebration, knew blow up w/haley was going to be an issue so tried to beat media out of locker room
-- will do everything for the guys in the locker room

He said he didn't want the focus to be on his argument with TH. He wanted to beat the press before they got in the locker room. Also said he did not sneak out the back door.

EDIT: Day late and a dollar short.

Kurt Warner

Kurt Warner was just on Fox Sports Radio with Sean Farnam and Chris Riecks. He said basically the same thing that every other player and coach has said.

Todd Haley is a fiery competitor and that he(Kurt) has gotten into it with him more than anyone. It's all 'heat of the battle' stuff between two competitive guys who both want to win. He said once they leave the field it's all forgotten. Then Chris Riecks said "Yeah but you go to church with Todd."

Conclusions
:1) Gotta get Q going to same church as Todd and Kurt, so that when he and Todd get into it, it's not some overblown media circus which sets off Cardinal nation. ;)
2) The reason Steve was inserted IMO was to have a speed threat in the game to keep one or both Eagle safeties deep to give the running game more of a chance of success.
3) As for what do I expect the players to say, I wouldn't expect Q to go on ESPN to squash this stuff if he was still upset.
