I know I've been vocal about hating our wins lately. But I also want to go on record and acknowledge the positives. Here I'll focus on ulis.

Although I hate fielding undersized players because it automatically creates imbalances in your defense, sometimes some players just have "it" and I've thought that about Ulis since before we drafted him.

His speed and hand quickness and tenacity create mismatches in our favor. And he just seems to have that sense about what needs to be done when it needs be done. I will not be surprised if he's the type of guy that routinely hits game winners for us, although I don't want them all to be threes with his shooting percentage from deep.

I don't think he will ever be our lead floor general due to his diminutive size, but I think he will continue to warrant significant minutes and be a solid part of our core.

I'm excited to see him take steps forward NEXT YEAR.

Similar to how the Suns have benched Chandler and Knight, I'd like to see them give Bledsoe every other game off and just let Ulis start and see how he handle the full reigns. Even if he struggles with it, he would be learning and this move would help the Suns keep Bledsoe healthy as well. They have Price signed for remainder of the season as back up as well.

I didn't think Isaiah Thomas would ever be an NBA starter let alone an All-Star because of his size but he has proven me wrong.

I think this is a good suggestion about sitting Bledsoe every other game or something like this. The Suns need him going forward.

If he becomes a knockdown shooter, how do you guard him?

He is more elusive and wirey than Thomas. Great move by mcd signing him to a first round like contract.

I too think it was a great move by McDonough to sign Ulis to a first round contract. Maybe he is trying to atone for past mistakes.

I actually think that the Suns have put a plan into place for Ulis for the rest of the season. He is now our backup and finishing Point Guard, moving Bledsoe to Shooting Guard and Booker to Small Forward at the end of games. This should allow resting Bled and Book during games rather than changing the chemistry every second game.

'Quite a departure for me, but I support this plan for the rest of the season. It can work now, where it has failed in the past, because Ulis is a legitimate Point Guard rather than a tweener running a lot of the offense.

I'd rather rest Bledsoe down the stretch and let Ulis play. Your plan has merit but I want the Suns to get a good lottery pick. The lineup you propose could result in more wins with Bledsoe in the lineup. It may sound contradictory, but I want the Suns to go in full win mode next season after the draft. Now if the youngsters play and win, I will take that and be happy.

We always are looking for a back-up point guard. Why can't Ulis be our back-up?

Because he's too good. So many people looking for a reason he can't start in this league but he shows he can almost every time he takes the court.

He's undersized, that isn't going to change but he's just touching the surface of the player he can become. He didn't win player of the year for the SEC because he's a good little player, he won it because he's a great player. Great enough to make his size not matter IMO.

He was the reason I was disappointed (at the time) that we'd traded the Washington pick to move up for Chriss. Instead, he's somehow still available for us and we get him in the second round. Unreal. Now, we have him and Jones for virtually no cost. Love it!

That was my first thought as well. I don't think the question is whether or not Ulis should be the back-up point guard, but whether or not he has what it takes to be the starting point guard. I was skeptical about him (and Williams, for that matter) but both of them produce every time they get a chance to play.

This is going to sound odd, but he might be too good for us. What I mean is, unless we get a transcendent talent on this team I don't think he can be the starting pg to take us to a championship. But I think he's going to be good enough to want to run a team of his own. So we may have to eventually part ways with him.

The knock on little guys is the defensive liability. But for Ulis that is a strength. The old way of handling that was to isolate and post up. But switching defenses can handle that for the most part. I just don't see why his stature would prevent him from a starter role.

He is great to have as a back up.

I am hoping Ulis can develop into a 4Q type of player albeit with better play making ability.

I think Ulis is a 4Q type player right now as he has the maturity well beyond a normal rookie. I see his game only improving. This is the exciting part.

Depends on who we pick. I hope we get Ball -- that should be great. He replaces Bledsoe and Ulis is backup next year. If we get a SF then we still have Bledsoe as starter and Ulis as backup. Guard rotation of Bledsoe, Booker, Ulis is good. Not sure if Ball, Booker, Ulis works equally well. I guess Ulis will take the Bledsoe/SG role.

If Ulis is too good for not starting we should ship out Bledsoe. If we believe he's equally good as Ball we should draft SF. I want a floor general/distributor. Let the flashy gung-ho scoring come from other positions.

Can't wait for next year. We've cleared way for Warren, Chriss, Bender. Additionally we have Bledsoe, Booker, Ulis. All one year older and stronger. Add a high draft pick, Len/Chandler and A1, plus veterans Barbosa and Dudley. The tank is coming to a halt.

But he might be perfect in combo with Bledsoe. He is a great option in case of injury, plus he can take more of Bledsoe's minutes avoiding wear and tear. With Bledsoe's injury history, we really have to have an "almost starter level" back up pg.

I highly doubt we get a top 2 pick out of this draft. After that, the best prospects are sf's. So we get a sf out of this. Jackson or Tatum. That's not all bad.

Sure with this was a center laden draft.

I didn't notice it before but Tyler tells Chriss to cover Isiah which led to the steal. Clutch IQ

I'm not sure if any words were spoken but Ulis does direct Chriss with a tap on his back.

It was some all around great play especially by Bledsoe, Chriss and Ulis.

He seemed to struggle quite a bit against John Wall yesterday. I think he'll have a hard time against the 6'3 and bigger guards like Wall, Westbrook, Irving, Curry etc.

But against most others, it shouldn't a big issue.

To be fair, every player will have a hard time against guys like Wall, Westbrook, Irving, and Curry.
