The obvious problem with Bauer is with Montero. Can they make an effective tandem? Montero has real problems calling a game with him in there and maybe he needs to just sit back there and let him get in his own rythem with HIS pitches.
I, too, disagree with your assessment. A obsessive, stubborn rookie pitcher who won't follow his veteran Catcher calling a game or perhaps even more, calls coming from the dugout, and you blame it on the Catcher?

There is no Bauer in team. An "a" and an "e" alone aren't going to do it. :)

We may never find out, because they may be shopping him as well. Pitty, because he has the tools to be #1.
He may have the tools, but he shows neither the discipline nor desire to be a team player. Potential tools aren't enough. As demonstrated by his performance.

Diamondbacks "Highly Unlikely" To Trade Justin Upton

Hopefully we don't move Upton now.

Diamondbacks General Manager Kevin Towers told reporters that a trade of Justin Upton is now "highly unlikely" now that they have filled their other needs, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Those needs were filled in tonight's blockbuster three-team deal that saw Arizona acquire shortstop Didi Gregorius, left-handed pitcher Tony Sipp, and first baseman Lars Anderson.

Hopefully we don't move Upton now.

Still too young, too talented and at present too cheap to hand over to some other team, without getting incredible quality in return...
If he's still with us next spring, the pressure on him will be HUGE to finally bust out and have the year we've all been waiting for...

The Bauer trade does not help us next year, which was what I was afraid would happen. Owings is more ML ready than the guy we got today, should have either kept Bauer or look for a better deal than a journeyman 1B, RP and SS who is a couple of years away. If they would have just picked Bundy instead of Bauer they would have been better off. Parker now Bauer, Towers needs to stop getting fleeced.

First, even PRIOR to Tampa Bay bending over....... errr trading Shields and Davis to Kansas City, there was a 0.000000000000001 percent chance of them trading Price. He's one of their cornerstones. I know he's coming up on free agency soon, and playing himself into a fat payday, but I really think with the team pushing to get a new stadium, they're gonna keep him and build around him and Longoria as the franchise guys (if Myers develops like I think, you can add him to that mix.)

At this stage, that said, I think Upton is safe.

Regarding Bauer, I know Gibby and he clashed at first. I also know he and Montero got off to a very rough start. However, don't think for ONE SECOND Gibson was buddy buddy with every single teammate he's ever played with. In fact, quite to the contrary. They don't have to get along; god knows Billy Martin didn't get along with ANYONE, but he made the most of them. Gibby is professional enough to work around any issues he had with Bauer. Montero? If there's that big of a gap between the two where you can't work together, go grab a catcher on the dirt for every five days, and slide Montero over to first those days.

My point is, if emotions led to selling low on someone of Bauer's talent, heads need to roll and jobs need to be evaluated.
