Hey--last season I correctly identified Beanie Wells as the value pick for the Arizona Cardinals on ESPN.com's Football Today (then with Jeremy Green).

We did the exercise again this weekend. The audio of it was posted Tuesday, but I forgot to provide the link:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/archive?id=2544457

I talk about the Cardinals at about 41:30.

Hear me defend Levi Brown and Russ Grimm and tell Matt Williamson that he has no idea what he's talking about.

Good job. What happened to Green? Podvader's Patriot-centric schtick is kind of old.

I don't know. It's a little mysterious. I think that it's a contract situation kind of thing--he disappeared for two or three months last offseason, as well.

Honestly, I could host a better show than Matt Williamson does. Pod is a little sensitive to the Patriot-homer stuff, so I think he tones it down at times.

droppin the knowledge

good for you -- I never have liked Williamson. He always strikes me as a guy who is stuck in the "old Cardinals" mindset when looking at this team

You definitely could. Williamson is a snoozefest.

WOW You scorched him! I get the same feeling that Williamson doesn't know **** about this team too...

Just listened to it. I hate this notion that OLB is a HUGE need for the Cards, though I agree with Williamson that OT could be the (surprise) value pick at 26.

Nice work, K9.

Very Nice job. I agree with everything you brought up.

I loved the "Had to drop some knowledge on Matt" comment.

Classic!

Ive heard this Williamson douche-bag before and he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about when talking about 90% of teams out there. I think you did drop some knowledge on him and i like the idea you suggested to him re: trade down into the second for Cody and trade up for Sean Lee.

He may get some stuff wrong, but he doesn't seem like a douche-bag to me. Even when playfully hostile K9 jumps on him, he takes it in stride.

Maybe not on this occasion but when ive heard him in the past he acts like a smug S.O.B. and tries to show up everybody that debates what he has to say. I cant stand people like that who feel their opinion is always more valuable then others is all.

Frankly, he just doesn't know our team inside and out.

That's the difference; Brandon Keith and Herman Johnson have shown glimpses of being fantastic players. Also his (Matt Williamson) comments on his concern with our o-line opening holes is unwarranted and I don't understand how Charles Brown would address that either. We averaged over 4 yards a carry as a team last year, the first time that has happened since I've watched this team.

Sure Warner has a quicker release, but Matt has better mobility and I'm fairly certain Whiz will adapt the offense and protection scheme to address the change. Frankly I think "experts" like Williamson are discounting the "Whiz factor" way too much, and as outsiders, the don't understand just how good our coaching staff has become. Whiz worked wonders with Warner, and with nearly the same team that Dennis Green couldn't win with, went to the Super Bowl.

Additionally, I agree with this pick K9 if all the other prospects are gone and a trade down isn't possible.

Hughes will be a stud in the NFL, and while Davis showed glimpses and Brown has potentially, I won't yet believe we're set on the edge of our defense. OLB was a MAJOR weakness last year and Hughes will start from day one and be a playmaker for this defense.

Your join date shows July 2002.

In 2002 the Cards averaged 4.4 yards per carry.
