God, I hate the effing Lakers.....

.....but not nearly as much as I hate the Spurs!

It's great to see the refs take one from the Spurs rather than giving it to them. If the last couple or three minutes is any indication, you can damned well tell that the league wants LAL-BOS in the Finals.

It's about time that the Spurs got treated like the Suns always do....

the irony is they will never get treated that way against the Suns. brings me no satisfaction at all. Finley could play 40 more years and still hit against us, Parker won't miss layups and Duncan shoots 90% from the line.

I'll take it and gleen whatever satisfaction I can from it. It's great to see them crying to the refs.... LEGITIMATELY. It's great to think about the post-game quotes in which the Spurs talk about playing 5-on-8. All I can say to them and their stupid fans is cry me a f**king river!!!!

The refs were not a factor in this game. There were a couple of bad no calls, but I'm pretty sure they evened out in the end.

Amazing game to watch though. Tony Parker did what he liked in the first half, Duncan played an amazing all around game.

Kobe got Gasol and Vladmir involved early and then looked for his own in the second half. That move were he went behind the back and then stepped through on Bowen was jaw dropping.

The big factors in this game was the Spurs inability to score for long periods, Manu wasn't on his game and Kobe Bryant came up big when it counted.

This series is going 7. And it's going to be entertaining as hell.

Nicely said. Thank you for being the voice of reason. I still have the Lakers in 6 though.

This was a great game. Being a fan of LA of course im thrilled to be up 1-0. But its just 1 game. And this series will be a struggle i know for certain. Pop will make necessary adjustments. But i think this game 1 will be the only game where either team accrues a 20-pt lead.

But yeah........this series will be entertaining and it IS likely reaching that crucial 7th game. Too evenly matched. I expect the Spurs to rebound and fight. Its comin.

In a van...down by the river.
I hope the Sterns get swept(obviously won't happen). Before the series started i was fairly neutral . I can't stand either team but i found myself hoping that Kobe would flip the switch and drive a stake into their championship hearts.
Nice win.

I'm on that same bandwagon. It feels weird to cheer for Kobe, they are the evil Lakers. But they do play a watchable form of basketball.

And yes, Steve Kerr, we do need more D to compete in the playoffs.

I agree. LA is very fun to watch since Gasol. It used to be the Kobe show which got old quick, but now that he is lobbing up dimes to Gasol it is a lot more fun to watch.

I never thought I would cheer for the Lakers as much as I am in this series because I cant stand the Spurs in the least bit. My friend and I were laughing at the Spurs crying about legitimate calls/non-calls because it is like they dont even realize that they are the beneficiaries on 90% of them most of the time.....hell, all the time against the Suns.

Damn, the Lakers came out looking terrible. They are notorious for coming out in the 3rd quarter either great or terrible. I'm glad they kicked it into gear, though a bit late.

Kobe pissed me off with way too many jumpshots early, until he started to drive. The famous Spurs cold spell helped out, when it finally came. Lamar NEEDS to make his chippies. Fish NEEDS to score.

Manu hasn't played well against us all year, and tonight was no different. Sasha was great on him defensively. I'm a bit surprised that Ariza didn't even dress though...

One hard fought game...hope game two is a little more easy for the Lakers.

In a way I hope the Spurs win - if the Lakers do, PHX will be full of hordes of bandwagon Laker fans.
Doesn't happen here when the Sterns win.

I want the Spurs to win. I'd rather that we were beaten by the champs instead of watching LA do what we failed to do 3 years in a row.

If LA goes to the finals we will never hear the end of it.

If it ends up being an LA/Boston finals.... I might have to unplug for a month. I don't think I can handle all the talking heads falling over each other with 80s comparisons.

Hell, this series, I am a pseudo-Lakers fan, because I don't want the Spurs to win.

Who cares.
