I see our team disintegrating before my very eyes. I wonder what the Vegas odds are right now that we finish last in our division? Maybe we should hurry and take that bet. Seriously, I think we have a better chance of finishing last than making the playoffs.

Oh well, maybe Whiz will learn from this: No more injury prone players with our high draft picks. It is easy, just remove all player from your draft board who have been in trouble with the law, or who have had a major or several less major injuries during college. Those guys fall down the board for a reason.

I know, I know .... if they can stay healthy and out of trouble they just might be the steal of the draft........B.S. Stay away of them. They have a Caution Sign around their neck for a reason.

This is starting to feel a bit like the years when we went 4-0 in the preseason, then reality set in.

The sky is falling.

No, not really. Someone is going to finish 4th in this division, and we still get to play the entirety of the NFC North. So, that's going to be fun.

Beanie comes back after November, just when the schedule starts getting interesting/important with division games. Unfortunately, the RB injuries give the FO the excuse to dust off the Kurt Warner playbook and throw down after down after down. We put a lot of eggs in the Beanie/Lil'Sweetness basket, and while it's unfortunate that cheesebeef's horrifying vision of things to come came to pass, it's not the end of the world.

Did anyone see Bmore's game vs. the terrible KC Chefs yesterday? Are they going to finish last?

Good thinking. Who needs a Randy Moss or a Frank Gore or an Adrian Peterson? Seriously, I think it's best, in general, to stay away from players that have had serious injuries or have been kicked out of a school or arrested for underage drinking etc but each case needs to be judged on it's own merits.

I will not say it is over and I will not say it is all beautiful up ahead, I'm gonna see what this team does...they have been pretty damn resilient of late, so I do not see the dark confines of the cellar :)

Tell me how that works out for you. I'll be down in the cellar looking for a nice bottle of wine.

Seriously though, I think we win one more game this season. The only reason I have any hope at all is the fact this team has shown incredible resilience the past season plus. Well, actually there is one more reason for hope. I only see one more victory on the horizon but I have terrible vision.

naw... we'll definitely beat the Rams/Bills. After that... yeah... it looks pretty bleak, but that's why they play the games!

I really like our chances against the Bills but our other winnable games will probably come down to which teams have packed it in. We could easily come out on top against the Rams, the Lions and the Jets but I wouldn't put any of them in the "definitely" group. The fan in me is still holding out hope we finish 15 - 1 but the skeptic that watched this team the past two weeks is already checking out the draft.

we must trade kolb for tebow and start him at TE

As funny as it might sound to many, Tebow's ability to run and make things happen on the fly might be a perfect fit for this OL of ours. He would give us more running yards than we are going to get the rest of the season no matter who else we have at RBs.

He's "eligible" to come back on November

Every team suffers injuries. It's not like we lost AP. Last I looked we were 4-1 with the Bills coming to town. GBR!

Last time I looked the Cards had scored 3 points in their last game, given up 17 sacks in just two games, and had lost both starting RBs.

We have a home game against one of the worst defenses in the NFL with a chance to get to 5-1 and have to play without our #1 LT and #1 and #2 RBs. :(

Oh well, maybe we can win 9-6.

Throw on running downs, run on throwing downs, run draws and screens, and get your team ready to play/win close, low scoring games. Stay ahead of down and distance.

It is a mindset. If you are geared up to play/win these types of games, you can overcome this as a team. I still think 9-7 is possible.

It's a mindset that this coaching staff doesn't seem capable of maintaining, and probably doesn't have the personnel to support.

Without Beanie, how do we stay ahead of down and distance? You're one play away from being in 2nd and 10 (or worse).

I know that the Cards radio network is talking up the 17 play drive that we opened up the Rams game with. The problem with that 17 play drive isn't that it only resulted in 3 points--well, that's not the MAIN problem. The real problem with that drive is that it was 17 plays long. This offense really has no vertical element, and we had to convert on a handful of 3rd-and-6+ downs to get that drive put together.

I'm interested in having one of WiPo's fans explain why they think he might be good. Through two preseasons, I haven't seen anything that he's done well as a runner. Not against actual NFL players.

Oh for the love of .....

It was a road game, on a short week, where nothing went right against a new coach in the division who had a perfect game plan against us.

Our defense alone is going to win 4 more games for us, 8-8 should be good enough for 3rd at worst.

That's all well and good, and we're not going to face a lot of teams who have 2 pass rushers of the caliber of Long and Quinn. But we only scored 3 points. We got beat by 2 TDs, and now we're starting a running back who wasn't good enough to get touches at the beginning of the season.

I'll ask again: What's the path for this offense to score 17 points per game without getting defensive or special teams TDs? We had drives start at the St. Louis 32, 37, and 38 yard lines, and another drive get to St. Louis's 9 yard line, and walked away with a grand total of 0 points.

No matter how good your D is (and we're not good enough to shut teams out), you have to score points to win in today's NFL.

You and Kent Somers stole that from me. I have always said that in TODAY'S NFL you have to score points. Especially more points than your opponent.

I would say that the Cards just need two touchdowns and one field goal a game. That should get them to 17 points a game.

In the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, it's not about the Xs and Os, it's about the Jimmies and Joes. Any given Sunday you got to go out there and execute and win one-on-one battles. Every game is really just a handful of plays that can go one way or another, and you have to have enough playmakers to go out and make those plays for you. If you can make more plays than the other team, and limit the amount of plays that the other team can make, then you give yourself a great chance to win in today's NFL.
