We're 2 & 0 and 9 & 2 over our last 11 games... Pretty heady stuff - particularly for the Cards.
However, we would be kdding ourselves if we didn't think it can all go in reverse, very quickly and frankly, quite easily... Why?
- Because our o-line, while showing signs of improving in Pass Protection, still sucks for the most part...
- Our running game is truly worse than pathetic... I actually think our best RB remains de-activated (Powell). Beanie Wells is what he is - a big back who can be taken down with a feather... And the jury is clearly still out on Williams... Can he really come back from the horrific knee injury and can he overcome his fumble-itis??
- Our defense is by far the best thing about this team, but, is it really plausible to expect them to pitch a shutout each week?? At some point, our offense will have to kick into gear if we really want to be taken seriously...
- We still can't get any reliable production at the TE position. Heap shows flashes, but, the dude just can't stay on the field...
- Our QB situation remains unsteady...and that's being kind. Kolb has looked more comfy over the past 5 quarters of play. And this coming Sunday will serve as his biggest moment and biggest test of his career.
- PP aside, am I the only one concerned about our CB situation? Heck, I'm even wondering just how much Wilson has left in the tank... He was never great in coverage and now? Eeesh...
I am also curious... Just how much of what we are doing on defense is a direct result of Horton, or, is it that we finally have a plethora of playmakers who can actually execute game-plans on a consistent basis??
Not taking anything away from Horton, however, it's hard to argue the fact that no other Cards defensive coordinator has ever had this many playmakers to work with... We've seen some terrific drafting on this side of the ball, and, it now appears that letting Haggans go in favor of keeping Groves was a brilliant move! Was that a Horton alone decision??
It just seems that our success on defense - oh hell, our success as a team, largely sits on the shoulders of our front seven. If they play well, good things tend to fall our way... But, if they are just a bit off their game, do we really have enough elsewhere on this team to pick up the slack?? At some point in this season, this question will have to be answered... can we win a game(s) when our front seven isn't having a great game? I just hope we don't have to answer this question come Sunday!![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
