We're 2 & 0 and 9 & 2 over our last 11 games... Pretty heady stuff - particularly for the Cards.

However, we would be kdding ourselves if we didn't think it can all go in reverse, very quickly and frankly, quite easily... Why?

- Because our o-line, while showing signs of improving in Pass Protection, still sucks for the most part...

- Our running game is truly worse than pathetic... I actually think our best RB remains de-activated (Powell). Beanie Wells is what he is - a big back who can be taken down with a feather... And the jury is clearly still out on Williams... Can he really come back from the horrific knee injury and can he overcome his fumble-itis??

- Our defense is by far the best thing about this team, but, is it really plausible to expect them to pitch a shutout each week?? At some point, our offense will have to kick into gear if we really want to be taken seriously...

- We still can't get any reliable production at the TE position. Heap shows flashes, but, the dude just can't stay on the field...

- Our QB situation remains unsteady...and that's being kind. Kolb has looked more comfy over the past 5 quarters of play. And this coming Sunday will serve as his biggest moment and biggest test of his career.

- PP aside, am I the only one concerned about our CB situation? Heck, I'm even wondering just how much Wilson has left in the tank... He was never great in coverage and now? Eeesh...

I am also curious... Just how much of what we are doing on defense is a direct result of Horton, or, is it that we finally have a plethora of playmakers who can actually execute game-plans on a consistent basis??
Not taking anything away from Horton, however, it's hard to argue the fact that no other Cards defensive coordinator has ever had this many playmakers to work with... We've seen some terrific drafting on this side of the ball, and, it now appears that letting Haggans go in favor of keeping Groves was a brilliant move! Was that a Horton alone decision??

It just seems that our success on defense - oh hell, our success as a team, largely sits on the shoulders of our front seven. If they play well, good things tend to fall our way... But, if they are just a bit off their game, do we really have enough elsewhere on this team to pick up the slack?? At some point in this season, this question will have to be answered... can we win a game(s) when our front seven isn't having a great game? I just hope we don't have to answer this question come Sunday! :D

What has Wilson done so far this year to cause you to bag on him? Just curious.

Also Heap is supposedly day to day. Unless he misses a game why no love for a guy who has played his arse off the last two weeks?

I like AW but be was beat for what would have been a touchdown had Gronk held onto it.

See below on Wilson. I love Adrian don't get me wrong. One of my alltime favs. But, many a TE can claim they burned AW... And as mentioned below, Gronk is one of them. Is is wrong to think that AW should be able to run with a guy as big as Gronk??

As for Heap - he's glass...

This next game is such a big test.

-Eagles have the edge rushers to get past our OT's.

-Big fast Cb's to match with our slow WR's....we need Heap this week or Housler's breakout game

-We havent faced a speed back yet on defense

-Do we have the speed on defense to match their playmakers..

-Atleast the seattle game got us some headstart on mobile qb but Vick will do much better in getting the ball downfield.

Yes it is wrong. Gronk is one of the best ever. He beats just about everyone.

Ridley is a speed back.

According to an interview Horton did with Urban yesterday after the game, he drew up the defensive plays for this game during the draft. You should note that he pulled the nose tackle for all but about 10 snaps of the ball, electing instead to go with two defensive tackles, DD and CC, and and two outside linebackers on the line, and 7 defensive backs. The front four got pressure on Brady all game long, bothering him and their timing, while providing decent pass coverage. So yesterday's defense was definitely Horton's doing, but was executed very well by our players. It was a brilliant scheme for this game. Next Sunday against the Eagles, is a whole different set of circumstances.

Yes it's wrong. There is reason Gronk is the NFL record holder in TDs for a TE. Name me one SS or a LB that can cover him one on one. Good luck.

Heap has played fantastic and as of yet to miss anything but a few minutes in the 4qtr. Your just being hard headed and complaining for the sake of complaining.

To me, the only thing that's real is that - with all our weaknesses - if we execute the way the coaches want us to - we have the talent to compete with any team in the NFL - anytime, any place.

Doesn't mean that we'll always do so, but the huge benefit of yesterday's win is that it should validate all the hard work put in by the players and reinforce the trust in the principle that if everyone puts out the max and believes in the system, they will be rewarded with more W's.

You referred to Ridley as a "speed back"...

You still have yet to name anyone that can cover Gronkowski one on one. Or even give Heap even a sniff of love.

Haters gonna hate.

I'm going to 'kid' myself until I can't.

We're 9-2 and have seen every conceivable 'O' and 'D'.

I'll leave it to our next opponent to worry.

Hey, in terms of covering Gronk - yes, his size and hands present issues... He has also developed into a very good route runner. BUT, he isn't hard to cover because of his speed!
To me, he's like a slower version of Kellen Winslow, Sr.

So, I honestly don't watch enough of his games to know who can cover him... I would've expected Adrian to keep up with him from a speed perspective...

Gronk is fast and lie you just openly admitted he is a VERY good route runner. What's TE best way to create space other than just speed? Precise routes. The kid is the absolute real deal and the whole package. He is so successful because of his size/speed/route running ability and great hands. To call Wilson washed up IMO is definitely over the top.

I feel hopeful- We got beat at most offensive stats and yet 53 runs to 63 passes - kolb had 140 passing yards! Our run game could get better and stay better - and yes I expect that not the opposite. WE did not beat ourselves although we tried too! TWICE!

I think the chances of running for 3rd and short are great- If they are playing the pass as they are. But Why not were in the stupid spread offense occasionally with LSH to TRICK them! We earned the Lead by forcing them to respect the run even though they stopped it. The outlet to Beanie was for 24 easy yards but it is like an after thought- It is not part of our arsenal- No Lets force the pass againsat their best pass defensive schemes.

We need to take what they offer and Mike Miller doesn't seem to know when they offer goodies! Trick or treat- I'll Take the TRICK!
