He plays fast. Have seen every game he has played.

He's not a speed back Mulli... McCoy is a speed back. Chris Johnson is a speed back. CJ Spiller is a speed back. Ridley is much more known for being a tough, power back than he is a speed back.

I watched the game in a sports bar in Huntington, WV and it appears that we rarely have an easy outlet available to the QB. Watching the other games almost all the teams had one available on almost every pass play.

I guess since he runs slower than Kellen Winslow.

Gronk is fast and lie you just openly admitted he is a VERY good route runner. What's TE best way to create space other than just speed? Precise routes. The kid is the absolute real deal and the whole package. He is so successful because of his size/speed/route running ability and great hands. To call Wilson washed up IMO is definitely over the top.

I didn't say Wilson is "washed up", just that I am "wondering" how much he has left in the tank. This is his 12th season in the league after all...

And yes, Gronk is of course a top level TE. I am not questioning that at all. However, I don't believe - particularly with respect to the play being referenced in this thread, that it would be unreasonable to think that Wilson could match Gronk's "speed". It wasn't a fancy, multiple-move route. It was a very vanilla seam route and Gronk ran by Wilson as if he were standing still...

I like AW but be was beat for what would have been a touchdown had Gronk held onto it.

LOL???????

You mean the play where Brady stood in the pocket like a statue and then finally just decided to launch the ball deep to Gronk because he could find no one else?? You honestly expect our DBs to hold up for that long in coverage? At that point, it's on the pass rush to get to Brady.

Are you familiar with what defense was being played? Are you sure Wilson wasnt expecting help that wasnt there? etc.. too many variables...

Also when you start saying things like "wondering how much he has left in the tank" IMO you are trying to suggest he is washed up and would be the reason he wasnt covering Gronk so closely. Furthermore even in Wilson heyday and prime of his career he has had trouble covering TE with far less talent than Gronk.

That is the point I made... so I thought... :mulli:

Again, A-Dub will always be one of my alltime favorite Cardinal players... While he has always suffered in coverage, his play at the point of attack has always been epic!
In his 12th season, I think it's totally fair to question what he has left in the tank...
And - good points on the Gronk issue. My gut tells me that Gronk was his man all along, but, I really don't know that for sure.

According to an interview Horton did with Urban yesterday after the game, he drew up the defensive plays for this game during the draft.

That's very interesting. It illustrates how his mind works. He's a defensive coach on with an offensive mind-set.

(And no matter how I worded that it was going to come out odd, so wth.:))
