I am more interested in wins and losses than I am in individual statistics. I have my heroes like everyone else but I will always take a win over how those individuals do.

True, except after 5 games last season, the team was 4-1, so the 2012 Kolb/Skelton combo, if we're comparing apples-to-apples, is still outperforming Palmer. Since the narrative has been, "Palmer is better; therefore, we should get better production", it needs to show on the stat line as well as the overall record.

I firmly believe that this offensive lull will get better (it has to, right?), but with two divisional opponents upcoming, we can ill-afford to continue to struggle; otherwise, we're looking at a 3-4 record and 0-3 in the division. It begins and ends with Palmer. He needs to stop throwing picks, particularly in the redzone and look for Fitz as opposed to Mendenhall. This offense is not built for screens to the RBs, it's built on stretching the field.

Kind of ironic that Carson looked a whole lot better BEFORE Rob Housler returned to the lineup, e.g., when Jim Bray was playing more and Andre Roberts was in the slot.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Fitz was targeted 40 times in 5 games. Roberts was targeted 24.

im not hating on roberts either, I feel like those two have been lost in the shuffle so that we can bounce footballs off of houslers hands.

Don't doubt his presence is causing issues with the offense. Aside from dropped passes, alligator arms, and poor routes, he's taking targets away from Fitz, A-Rob, and Floyd.

Unfortunately, I don't see Housler being taken off the field except for obvious running situations. Arians likes 5 men running routes. Right now, I'd rather have 4 with a tradition TE back to block.

Agreed! Best five right now are Jim Dray in the backfield next to Carson, Ellington split wide with Roberts, Floyd and Fitzgerald. [in obvious passing situations]

I don't care. I am pretty sure the comparison ends there. CJ does that as WR1. Roberts, not so much.
Well it was a tongue in cheek comment. I wasn't actually saying Andre Roberts (as much as I like him and feel bad he hasn't been looked at a great deal over the last three games) is as good as Calvin Johnson.

and the pass was so spot on it hit his hand while he was running.

It was such a prefect throw. Palmer streamlined that ball right in there and Housler was on another planet.

I have to agree that the offense has to get better as we go.

It shouldn't be getting worse and Palmer is a huge part of it. When he is on he is really on, but when he gets rattled even a little his feet start to chop and the throws start going all over the place. Then the forced throws and everyone knows the rest.

If the Oline can get working together and protect Palmer where he feels comfortable then we should see an improvement. I said should.

palmer has been ignoring him all season except for the first game. Ignoring fitz too. He follows floyd and housler everywhere.

Housler has 7 targets in 3 games so he's not exactly following him everywhere.

The problem for Rob is he's totally lost, Arians finally came out and said it said he's a work in progress, he's not on the same page as Palmer is.

We have a very weird situation now because that's like the 4th or 5th guy we've been told isn't on the same page as Palmer, but Arians still seems to be insisting Palmer isn't the problem, so we're back to offseason and preseason when Arians kept saying the WR's and TE's needed to stop making mistakes. He appears to have an offense that's designed in a way that only his veteran QB understands it?

If it were just Housler or just Roberts or just Floyd yeah but when Fitz is also apparently missing plays or reads I gotta wonder.

Housler has never been an instinctive player, that he's struggling to learn a new offense isn't a shock, but the other guys including Fitz aren't on the same page either.

People need to look at the target stats, Housler is averaging just over 2 targets a game. he's not doing anything with them but the problem with the offense is NOT that he's taking targets from other guys, because he's not getting those targets.

For whatever reason Palmer is throwing to Larry and Floyd(40 and 36 targets) and nobody else that much(Roberts 24). It could be that they put in more stuff with Housler coming back that's screwed up the timing with the other guys, but it's not that Palmer is targetting Housler too much because he's barely throwing him the ball, and rightly so based on "production."

BA mentioned in a presser that Roberts has been playing outside instead of inside more the last two games and that doesn't seem to be a good fit. It may be one of the reasons that he 'disappeared'. I don't really like the way they are using Fitz that much either, doesn't seem to fit the way Palmer wants to throw to him (if that makes any sense).

Regardless, I didn't expect Palmer to be THIS mistake prone by week 5.

Wow.

If I were Palmer, I don't know why I would throw it that way, that many times.

Maybe Palmer should throw the football at the moon, since Housler's head is not on this planet.

According to profootball-reference.com Roberts had 1 pass thrown to him Sunday. One! And only 2 vs Tampa. So while he has 24 overall he has virtually nothing the last 2 games.

He has 2 receptions for 6 yards each the last 3 games. Something is not right in Robertsville.

Oh yeah at this point he's not doing a damn thing. He can't block so if he's not stretching the defense and catching balls, he needs to play less.

Seemed like in the 2nd half Sunday that's precisely what happened, more Dray and Sperry.

He needs to play. Palmer needs to utilize him more. The guy gets open always has.

I think he has to make plays when he's playing though. He hasn't yet.

You know what you'll get with Dray, he'll block, and he'll catch the ball thrown to him, and then fall down or get dragged down because he's slow, but he's reliable.

Sperry seems to be a pretty good blocker.

Right now Housler isn't doing enough to justify his PT, and I have always defended the guy but he's had 2 bad games in a row. I figured he'd get better week to week, so far he's getting worse.

It's apparent this offense is about timing, be where you're supposed to be because Palmer is going to throw it without looking. That may not be "right" but that's the way we're playing so you gotta be reliable.
