Palmer needs to utilize him more. The guy gets open always has.

IMO not that often yet this season. I isolated on him 6-7 times last week & Saints game & watched him loafing off the ball, it's like he's still hurt & can't run full speed or not thinking the balls coming to him. Watch him this week Shane & see if you notice. Something's not all there with this cat.

That may be by design. Maybe the defense want him left open and hoepfully he gets the ball thrown his way because either he won't be looking at the QB or he'll drop it.

It's like a bball coach I heard talking about a guy who constantly open. The coach said that was by design because they wanted that player shooting.

Honestly, I could care less about Housler. We don't have a good TE in the bunch. A-Rob is lost cause BA has all receivers in so many different positions that no one is fully on page yet. The line is starting to a bit better in protecting Carson but he seems to have the Kolbs and gets happy feet with minimal pressure. Kolb had more mobility and would leave the pocket, but Carson stays put too often when nothing is open when he should be rounding out of the pocket. I think Mendenahll needs to get quite a few less snaps and Ellington with quite a bit more to help open the offense and keep the defense honest. Mendenhall hasn't been able to do squat with his oportunities. Ellington is a stud. When he's playing, it keeps the LB's and secondary honest, leaving more throwing lanes for Carson to hit Fitz and Floyd.

and run directly into the pass rusher, get concussed and leave the game.

Yes, Kolb ran out of the pocket wayyyyy more than needed and usually to the dismay of the team. My point was, Carson penchant for happy feet, even when not warranted, and when he should scramble out of the pocket to extend the play, he doesn't and ends up forcing errant throws down field that turn into INT's

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Houser is just like those moving targets at the QB Challenge: Always open, no hands.

According to profootball-reference.com Roberts had 1 pass thrown to him Sunday. One! And only 2 vs Tampa. So while he has 24 overall he has virtually nothing the last 2 games.

He has 2 receptions for 6 yards each the last 3 games. Something is not right in Robertsville.
ESPN Blog had article yesterday and its because BA and team have Roberts moving around too much and playing on the outside too much. Roberts bread and butter is in the slot and they have essentially taken him out of that role since Dish Pan Housler returned.

Agree. BA's intentions are all well and good re: moving around WRs, but clearly it's negatively impacting Roberts and Fitz. Fitz should be the X or Z with Roberts in the slot. No need to add more to their plate than they already have.

Honestly Palmer is making 1st year picks, the one to the Detroit LB whom he threw ist right too and the Luechey one last week were almsot identical. He needs to return to his Oakland form when he made good throws and not costly ones. Rob Housler just sucks, wasted pick and we just need to realize that and eat it. On the nice side our pass rush has made our medocre secondary look better. This week will be interesting since SF has a near elite Oline ad Q will be lloking to prove something to us(maybe...the SB ring may already ahve said it all).

If Palmer gets a D- for the game and Housler gets an F, then Andre earns a C-.
One drop is hardly reason to ignore him the rest of the game. His opportunity was significantly more difficult than the drops by Lafell and Smith IMO.

You are a tough grader. I would not want to be in any of your classes in school. When talking about Palmer vs Kolb one should remember Kolb primarily ran backwards while Palmer stands still or occasionally moves up into the pocket. Kolb was one of the larger mistakes we ever made. I think he was injured when we got him and was hanging on for the money. Philly really put one over on us. Palmer at 3-2 is better than I expected in his first year so I will wait a while before giving him some sort of grade. If he can get us to 8/8 he will have done his job. He still does not get a lot of time in the pocket.

True, except after 5 games last season, the team was 4-1, so the 2012 Kolb/Skelton combo, if we're comparing apples-to-apples, is still outperforming Palmer. Since the narrative has been, "Palmer is better; therefore, we should get better production", it needs to show on the stat line as well as the overall record.

I firmly believe that this offensive lull will get better (it has to, right?), but with two divisional opponents upcoming, we can ill-afford to continue to struggle; otherwise, we're looking at a 3-4 record and 0-3 in the division. It begins and ends with Palmer. He needs to stop throwing picks, particularly in the redzone and look for Fitz as opposed to Mendenhall. This offense is not built for screens to the RBs, it's built on stretching the field.

It is still a bit early to judge Palmer. The Kolb/Skelton book is written and closed. They get a solid F from me. We are in 2nd place so lets be happy and enjoy it. No matter how we got there. My hero today is Karlos Dansby.

I wonder how Bruce feels about his boss going public with this beef? Seems to circumvent the normal tight lipped process. Doesn't matter if he's right. I expect the next public announcement from SK will be an apology of sorts.

I dont think calling out poor play neccessitates an apology really, the play HAS been poor.
