I was reading a USC fan site at lunch. They all say idiot Cards should have hired him. The most common reason is a comment Tony Boselli apparently made about Norm "Norm has very little patience with fools. that rubs many people the wrong way."

Russ ...... I love Boselli's comment. If Norm has very little patience for fools,
this front office might not be the one he would want to be dealing with on a regular basis!

Will be coming in next week for an interview next week!

NEXT WEEK?

We need to have our complete staff up and running and time to discuss things before the week of practices for the senior bowl.

Just say no to Whisenhunt! The guy does not want to be here he wants to be with the Steelers. Now, lets hope Norm Chow is the third person on this list...

As a wise man once said, "If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with." If Whiz gets the Steelers' job, more power to him. But, if he doesn't and he accepts a job here, I'm all for it.

This stance simply mystifies me. Does he want the Steelers job as his first choice? No doubt. If he doesn't get it and comes here, will he be any less dedicated and work less hard to win? Absolutely not.

Just because a candidate does not have YOU at the top of their wish list does not mean he cannot be on top of YOUR wish list. If someone else is hired in Pittsburgh, we offer him the job, and he takes it, I will have no problem that Pittsburgh was his first choice. I mean, why should anyone have a problem with a guy having priorities and going through those priorities to get a job? Sheesh.

Smokescreen......

Bill wants the gargoyle.

yep, me thinks it's all smoke and mirrors. Maybe Bidwill is picking him up in his private jet. Besides, who really thinks he'll leave the Steelers to take this job??

It sure would make the Cardinals' job a lot easier if all they had to select from were the people that wanted the Cards HC position before all others. Might only be Chow.

I am very leery of hiring someone who is saying they might take the job if they don’t get the one that they really want. I prefer someone like Chow or Sherman who really wants to coach here.

Give Chow or Sherman the opportunity to coach in Pittsburgh over here, and they probably take it.

You're putting too much blame on Whisenhunt, IMO.

The fact that he said or rather implied it while at the press conference for the Cardinals is what bothers me. Its just stupid.

Let's take a deep breath and review the bidding.

Within a couple of days of the final 1st interview, we heard a rash of conflicting rumors about who wowed the Bidwills, RG and some players.

Then came the "Sherman to Interview"/"Short List" announcement, with every one of the 8 candidates (save Pendergast) mentioned at least once as a front runner.

Then, late yesterday and today, there were rumors in all the media; most suggesting that Sherman was the front runner, he brought his wife with him for his second interview and he could be signed as early as today. (In fact, NFL Talk (??) actually reported that Sherman had signed.

And now, Whisenhunt's name has surfaced as the another 2nd interviewee (scheduled for tomorrow) with possibly others to follow.

What does this tell us? (1) that no one (I mean no one) from the local media knows precisely what's going on, (2) that Sherman and Whisenhunt are 2 out of probably a small group of candidates still in play and (3) the Cardinals aren't going to say any more than they don't want to say until they're ready. I'd add a speculative (4) that no one - including Cameron, Caldwell, Chow, Grimm or Rivera - can be ruled out until the Cardinals indicate they've been ruled out.

(Sound of pop-top squishing on next Bud can). Ahhhh!

I thought I was supposed to resign myself to 4 years of Sherman?

You still might have to, ya never know. Shoot, I like Whisenhunt, but all signs pointed to Sherman. I'm guessing he didn't want to keep Clancy around, or wanted too much money. Poor Clancy.
