Anyone who still doesn't like or is on the fence with Rhodes needs to reexamine their assessment. People keep talking about wanting to give LSH a contract extension but Rhodes needs to be the next man up right now. He has a player option for next year and needs to get locked up before we give him that option to test the market. Wilson was out today and Rhodes took over the roll of intimidator with big text book hits in the middle, the flat on the failed TE screen, and text book tackle on the goalline. Rhodes can fit any roll you need him in Hortons D IMO.

Next man up on the extension list without a doubt in my mind.

Yep. I liked Rhodes as a replacement for DRC back then: thought we'd see fewer highlight reel plays, but better fundamentals with a better contract. Looks like that's exactly what we've gotten.

Kerry Rhodes just played one of the best individual games I've seen from a Cardinal defender in quite awhile.

Brilliant performance.

That the was the best game of his Cards career IMO.

Loved how he stepped up. That tackle then sack/forced fumble was textbook stuff.

Great game Kerry.

Rhodes had one of the biggest plays of the game when he made that stop at the 2 or 3 yard line, which turned into a defensive TD. That was huge, and it's so easy to kind of give them the points at that point if you figure they're going to score anyway. This D never ever gives up. It was impressive to watch. They had something like 25 hits on Vick and 5 sacks. Rhodes played his best game in a Cardinal uniform in my opinion.

It was a tremendous stop and it was quite possibly a 14 point turnaround.

Horton is amazing. The anti-Grimm. Rhodes missed most of the last half of last season and the D was stellar without him. Then he comes back and plays awesome Defense.

You know you made a good play when Billick remembers your name and doesn't confuse you with a guy on the other team.

He had several highlight plays just in this game. Can't remember DRC ever having a performance this impactful for the Cards.

Nice job Kerry!

Add Mitch to the list as well.

I haven't seen every game or all the highlights but Rhodes has to be up for Defensive player of the week.

His first year here he had how many TD's? 3 or 4 right?

DWash also had a tremendous game.

Man oh man is this D thrilling and fun to watch.

I would sign him to a 3 year extension which would lock him up until he was 33 with possibly a team option for a fourth year. He has been very solid in taking over the back half of our defense.

As for LSH, I am almost to the point where I could care less if the team signs him. He brings very little to this team as a running back, and makes questionable decisions as a returner.

Extensions
Kerry Rhodes
Quentin Groves
LSH (possibly)

Rhodes is a stud and a half, and a hell of a good guy too. I love that guy. Hard worker, and a heart of the defense.

His play today was well above his head, and add to that his stop on Gronk on the two point conversion last week...he is flat out balling right now.

I considered him an upgrade from Rolle since his 1st season here. Love that guy

Also, how about Schofield? He definitely made his presence known today

Best game he has played. I was very impressed. If he played like that all the time he'd be a 2 time pro bowler, like Rolle is :D.

I think down the road we may see Rhodes taking over for Wilson and Bethel assuming the FS position. But that's a couple years away.
