Just crazy to think about. I think if the Suns passed on him, then OKC would select him immediately with the next pick. And I personally don't think Durant would have left OKC then because with rookie Booker, I don't think the Thunder would blow the 3-1 lead against GSW. And I don't think Durant would leave them after making the finals and especially not with a young dynasty on the rise.

Westbrook
Booker
Durant
Ibaka
Adams

That would soon become a top 2 starting five in the NBA IMO.

A fun "what if" scenario. It's hard to know how this would have played out in reality.

On a related note, OKC has some of the ugliest home uniforms in the league! Such a bland color correlation

Its total speculation. Who knows if Booker would have gotten the same opportunities he got with the Suns. He could still be an unknown riding the bench. I am convinced that its not just talent, its the situation that ends up making an NBA player.

But Durant could play in Phoenix next year if he wants.

Exactly this. The Suns happened to get a player who was very good in Booker but part of the reason he's blossomed is because we didn't have another legit SG on our roster last year. Knight and Goodwin were combo guards and neither of them has much range offensively. The Suns had been playing the 2 combo/2 PG style for long enough that having a legit 6'6 SG was a breath of fresh air, even if he was a 19 year old rookie.

OKC could definitely use someone like Booker but he'd probably only be used as a shooter if he was paired with Durant and Westbrook and as a rookie if his shots weren't falling then he wouldn't see much playing time. The draft report on Booker was that he was just a shooter and nothing more. Since he's exceeded those expectations everyone is trying to backtrack and change history so they look better. It's interesting that this news comes out after Booker goes off for 70 against the Celtics. Durant just happened to get interviewed by the biggest Celtics homer in the NBA media in Bill Simmons a few days after that and Durant hypes up Booker.
