He's going to be a free agent after this season and probably won't have a chance at a starting job with the Panthers if he re-signs. What do you think about bringing this guy in as a vet WR? He might be a good Green reclamation project.

He's more like a 3rd WR maybe 4th WR to me. Can he return punt return too?

Over his career, he's averaged 13.1 YPC and has notched 18 TDs over 54 starts. He has 31 grabs for over 20 yards, and 7 for over 40.

He had good speed in college, and will be 29 in June. I don't know, but I think that for the vet minimum or just above, he could be good.

He doesn't return punts, but I don't know why we can't use Bryant Johnson for that. Part of the problem was less-than-interested return coverage. Hopefully the Green regime will be able to motivate the players a little better.

I would personally like to get Nothcut.

But I will say it again. Just like when I said at the very beginning of last years offseason when I said pick up Marcus Robinson, and the Cards didn't. (they obviously are not getting my letters :p)

I will say. Pick up Kevin Dyson. The guy is a really good receiver but has had injury problems.

He is a deep threat and we would be able to sigin him to a 1 year contract for nuttin.

But hey if we don't we always got Brian Gilmore. :(

Dyson's injury that kept him off the field for basically a year and a half was serious.......achilles tendon I believe. It is being reported here in NC that he's been ready to play for about two months but can't displace Mushin nor Smith (dah). This would be a real reach for a FA pick. Northcutt is the answer if we go WR FA

I'm in the sign Northcut,Jackson or Dyson boat.
Don't these guys each fill different roles? Northcutt is a waterbug. I recall Dyson being a 6-2 physical dude. If we're talking about the Seattle Jackson, he can take it nto the end zone.

Different roles - can't be either or. Bring 'em all in.

The more (good) free agents at different positions we can sign, the less necessity for us to fill specific needs in the draft - so we can focus on BPA's.

Northcut is going to be a Free Agent? Sign him! God that guy is fast and even if Bryan Johnson remains the number 2 receiver we would have a huge weapon in the slot. He would pull safties with his speed allowing BJ or Q to be one on one coverage and would be a huge deep threat.

SIGN HIM CARDINALS.

Isn't "the slot" where Quan spends most of his time?

We don't need no more stinkin slots.

We need another outside/deep threat.

Why would you sign someone at the same position that you use Quan at?

I'm not saying Northcutt wouldn't be a great addition, I'm just saying to propose using him in the slot position, instead of Quan, makes absolutely no sense.

I think the FA WR we should bring in is Justin McCareins from the Titans. He stretches the field with his 4. 4 speed, Cathces very well & returns punts with the best of them. Also team-mate Drew Bennett is a FA. I would argue to say that either could be had without breaking the bank. Mc Careins had a breakout year last year, & he's still very young....

Dyson was signed by the Panthers about the same time they signed Ricky Prohl from the Rams. He was the Titans 1st round draft pick. He might have been taken before Randy Moss in 1998. But, did not nearly produce in his first year, like Moss.
He tore his achilles in an off season workout last June.
I had a friend (a top class runner) who was out a year with a torn achilles, but he then came back just as good as before.
Given the injury, I would not want to put down much of a signing bonus.

Any one would be an upgrade on the depth chart, there is only one proven WR on this team, it would not hurt to have a few more. It's not exactly like the Cards have a killer group of Wideouts, in my opinion it's one of the worst groups in the league, if not the worst. If it wasn't for Boldin having an amazing year for a 2nd round WR, the Cards would have been a laughing stock at the WR position.

If I am not mistaken...Dyson was available last offseason and either he had no interest in the cardinals or we had no interest in him....and we were in a worse situation last offseason regarding receivers...so if we were interested - I would have given last year higher odds....

We need someone that can return punts.

I don't think Quan or BJ are the answer there.

McCareins is interesting, and the Titans do have cap problems.

A contract at about 1.5 per year should snag him.

He has size and speed, which is what you look for in a deep threat.
