So don't speculate. You are not compelled to participate. I enjoy trade/draft talk. It is fun to do. If you don't like it, just don't do it....

But I still have to weed through, which was my point in agreeing to the trade sub forum.

Why do you enjoy it though? I would really like to know....not being an ass.

Maybe we should have a sub forum for everything... The Stern hate forum...Suns were better than the Spurs forum...the sub sub forum

It is likely there will be one thread like this: Kevin Garnett or just Trades that all related stuff gets merged into.

The other idea is the sub forum.

Both would give posters a place to go who enjoy putting on their GM hat while not cluttering the board.

Well what else would be there to talk about now..

The playoffs? I will surely not watch any of that crap now.

Basically leaves us with Trade and Draft Talk unless you want to talk about new player haircuts etc.

You realize a sub forum is still part of the Suns right? It is just a place where all like threads go to.

This isn't an entirely different area of the message board.

I am off to play with Kevin Garnett on my NBA 2K7. The computer took Marion, Diaw, and Atlanta's pick for him.

It works on there! (I am not being smarmy I really did this trade. :p)

But it would be like, ohmygosh, a whole click away!!!

gasp and swoon, how will people find their way to another link on the board...I mean, look at the dearth of posts in EE and P&R and the Cards forum. A draft sub forum would be the death knell of the board, I say. DEATH KNELL!!

on the run from johnny law... ain't no trip to cle
Here is my idea of our offseason centering around KG.

We trade Shawn Marion, Kurt Thomas and #4 for Kevin Garnett. Possibly some small fillers if Minnesota wants to ditch a bad contract for James Jones and Eric Piatkowski.

Marion 16M$ (expiring in 2008 or player option for 2008-2009)
Thomas 8M$ (expiring in 2008)
Jones 3M% (expiring in 2008)
Piatkowski 1.5M$ (expiring in 2008)
#4

for

Kevin Garnett 22M$ (expiring in 2008 or player option for 2008-2009)
Mark Blount 6M$ ( expiring in 2010 )

To make it better for Minnesota we could take Jaric instead of Blount.

Then we trade #24 and #29 to get Al Thornton or Thaddeus Young if necessary, possibly combined with a future pick.

Sign Grant Hill for the Veteran Minimum probably.

Keep Marcus Banks, why? Because he will have a MUCH easier time with Kevin Garnett around. Basically we will always have either Steve Nash on the floor or Kevin Garnett to run the offense.
You would also have Grant Hill who is a playmaker and Boris Diaw if he works his ass off in the offseason...

and there in lies the rub.

sorry, i stop taking this idea seriously once we have to depend on diaw to stop being french and give an ish, and grant hill to be a play-maker from his spot behind the scorer's table.

at this moment in time, i'm not ready to jump ship on the current suns roster. trade/drop j jones (the lesser), sean marks (god love him, he's the best paid fan in the nba) and perhaps marcus banks (who i believe could be an asset if he realizes he's a better defender than scorer). get a big guy, a point guard and anybody else who genuinely cares about trying their super bestest in every game.

with that, you get the same suns team that feels robbed of a chance this year, which makes them hungrier next year. that notwithstanding, you now have a team that feels confident and comforted in the knowledge that people believe in them and their abilities, even if things didn't swing their way.

i don't know, maybe i'm having the ultimate "pollyannna" moment but nothing about these games made me think we couldn't win with exactly the team we have now. i truly believe that avoiding the "buy high, sell low" panic that comes naturally after any kind of loss will end up being a step forward for the suns.

i will now sit back and wait for the onslaught of contemptuous posts for my radical idea of not trading everyone after a loss. :D

Umm no you don't rely on Grant Hill or Boris Diaw at all.

Right now we rely on Nash and Diaw.

If this happened we rely on Nash and Garnett and Diaw/Hill being the last option to make plays really.

We would always have either Nash or Garnett on the floor and in the unlikely event both of them are on the bench we would still have better playmaking qualities.

Every team in the league wants KG and a lot of them could offer better deals than what the Suns can. KG seems to want to stick it out and make it work in Minny, and with a few of the young pieces they have, maybe they will. Why would they do that trade? Marion is an all world 2nd fiddle player, KT is old, get real guys.

Lets keep this Suns core together, try to unload Banks and his dumb salary and hope we get Atlantas pick

Please what team can offer something better than the Suns? I would love to see examples.

We have probably more talent on the roster than anyone else, we have the expiring contracts to match Garnett's contract and hopefully a top 5 pick. We have everything Minnesota could wish for if they decide to trade KG and rebuild.

Banks can defend, bring the ball up, get to the hoop. He is good enough of a player to be in the rotation if you don't count on him being your only playmaker on the court.

Garnett/Blount
Amare/Diaw
Hill/Thornton
Bell/Barbosa
Nash/Banks

****.. this is gay.. the suns have tried the superstar route.. we need a team.. does this pic bring back memories?

Penny was a gimp at that time already.

A team full of all stars dont make a team.. Thats what the 90's Suns tried to do..

You need role players and bench players..

Your theroery is flawed..

I say no to KG..

And BTW, KG will never be a Sun.. Just like the rest of your half baked trades..

At least the 90s Suns made it to the finals.

You would be a fool to not want Kevin Garnett. He is a complete player, can play pretty much any position, I saw him play PG even. And best of all he is a legit 7'1 with long arms and as good a defender against Tim Duncan as there is in the leauge.

If you put KG on the Suns with Amare, Nash and Bell etc you have the undisputed favorite to win it all. Every single media outlet would pick you to win it all. Say what you want but this year we looked at ourselves as the favorites probably but very few outside looked at us as the favorites.

KG makes us better in every aspect of the game. Defense, Rebounding, Half-Court Offense, Playmaking, Size, Shotblocking, Leadership, Star Power..
