"It was funny, as they were lining up for the plays, I'd go 'Hold on, they're gonna do this.' And you don't know if they changed things up or what... but the ones that I was for sure on, I was letting it ring, and I think I helped us out maybe just a little bit here and there," he said.

I thought that only happened to Vince Tobin?

Or was Tobin coaching the defense that knew our plays I forget.

I think it was with McGinnis, and one of our departed free agents knew the plays.

Anyway, from what I've heard from Mike Sando and others, the WCO has a fairly limited playbook. They run the same handful (relative) of plays out of different personnel groupings and formations, and they trust that the execution of the plays will allow the receivers to get separation enough for the QB to get them the ball.

Meanwhile when the Cards were converting a 3rd down in the 4th Kolb looked down at the chart and said "What the $%&# play was that?"

Wow, you're the opposite of Thesmel. Thesmel still praises Leinart ad nauseum, and I can always count on you to bash Kolb in just about every thread I read.

I think we get the hint. I don't post much but I read most of these threads daily. Just thought I'd point that out.

If I remember correctly McGinnis was the coach but the player who said they knew the plays only played under Tobin.

That is correct, claimed we never changed the signals for the plays.

Mcginnis said that was silly but their defense nearly ripped our QB's head off a split second after the snap on multiple occasions.

Wasn't it the case that the Cardinals didn't change their signals for many years, not just from one season to the second?

I don't remember for sure, but it seems right. And, sadly, not unreasonable.

Yes that was the problem had with it at the time. The player hadn't been a member of the team for years and never played for coach McGinnis, but still knew the plays.
