If we score more points than our opponent each week, we will win games. It is that simple.

;) :D :biglaugh:

What do you guys think?

I'd just like to see the team go out, get a lead, and hold onto it to win the game.

Seems like we're always trailing or coming from behind whether we win or lose.

Let's blow at least one team out this season.

Is that too much to ask?

That's the dumbest friggin idea I've ever heard. No way, no how.
How do you possibly expect us to believe that scoring more points than the other team will all of a sudden "make us win"?? What if we score a lot of points, and give up some points? What if we tie? There's just so many holes in this philosophy it's laughable.
It'll never work. Well, not as long as people keep telling me it won't at least.
We should've drafted Steven Jackson.
Points. Sheesh. It's not about points, it's about yards per catch and net punting average if anything.

Wait a minute... Are we talking about football? Or basketball? Because in basketball the key to winning is keeping the other team from scoring as many points as you do, not scoring more points than the other team. Big difference. BIG difference.

Remember the thumping that we put on Carolina in December of 2001? That is the kind of domination I think that you speak of. That was the game where our defense was unbelieveable. Ronald McKinnon returned a fumble for his second TD in two weeks...with a broken wrist.

My favorite memory of that game will forever be Pat Tillman knocking Isaac Byrd into the next county with a hit that dislodged the ball and Byrd's helmet.

That radio call is embedded in this Tillman highlight montage:

Yards per attempt is far more telling than which team scores the most points.

I can actually disprove Jim's whole theory.

In '98 we scored LESS points than we allowed and still won 9 games, clearly his idea is just plain wrong.

Yes, that is the type of game I'm talking about. But as a season ticket holder...I'd like to see it happen on the field, not on the television. :D

Interesting note; In '98 we made zero three pointers, BUT also gave up zero triples, so I'd say it was a wash, regardless.

Yeah, I see your point. I can't remember the last time I watched a game on TV. It is much better being there.

I just had another thought from that game. Remember Cedric Oglesby? The kicker that we brought in after Gramatica tore his ACL? Well, even he was busting the Panthers chops. He absolutely destroyed their kick returner. Mistler went nuts. After the game, I sat next to him on the way to the airport and I told him nice takcle. He was shocked that anyone noticed. I gave him a copy of the radio call the next day and he was stoked!

I love kickers that can tackle! :D

Jim, you should know better than to try and make a TGIF comment without getting a TGIF response right back at you.

the key to this season is not to turn the ball over. plain and simple. when the cardinals turn the ball they lost. when they didn't they won.

It's all about stiches and teeth........you win when your team ends up with more stiches and less teeth at the end of the game.......BTW, why do they call it a game?

Turning the ball over is inevitable when you want to throw it with some accuracy and velocity. It would actually help the Cards win if the other team wasn't able to turn it over as well. For future reference there is a word that descibes this occurence; it's called spiraling.

Nice!

#1.GOT TO ELIMINATE TURNOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
#2.Establish the running game
#3. THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD. Go for the big play. USE that talent at WR.
#4.Score pts cause we will need as many as possible
