His post game comments didn't exactly make Rod Thorn's night.

If Kidd was staying, he would have said it right after the game. Perhaps some kind of resolve after getting lit up by the SA guards.

Get used to the lottery again, NJ.

Prediction: Kidd ends up in Seattle.

Actually, it may be good if Kidd is gone. Then, when Deke's contract is off the hook, they could tank one year for a high pick and have enough cap for a FA. In fact, with Payton, they'd have had a better chance to win this past series.

I think if Kidd leaves there are 3 players I would look at. the three are:
1)Payton
2)Terry
3)Arenas

I don't know what other free agent pg's are out there.

I think New Jersey is still over the salary cap without Jason Kidd's contract. They won't peel to afford any of those guys.

I didn't think Jason Kidd's comments meant he was going to leave New Jersey. He was asked if he was sure he was going to be back the next season. He just said that he was going to test free agency.

The only team that can give Jason Kidd a maximum contract with a legitimate shot at a championship in San Antonio. Well, guess you could say New Jersey has a shot. I don't think San Antonio will be offering a maximum contract to Jason Kidd though. Even Tim Duncan said a few days ago that he thought they should go after another frontcourt player like Jermaine O'Neal.

Unless Jason Kidd signs with a team like the Lakers for the mid-level exception I think he'll be back in New Jersey.

I mean I guess he could always try to force a sign and trade somewhere.

It will be an exciting summer.

Sonics will not get Kidd. Why? Sonics traded for Ray Allen and they are paying him the max. Sonics are over the cap so don't expect that to happen.

Kidd would be absolutely nuts to even think about coming West. Besides, Joumana doesn't want to leave New York anyway.

When he was in Phoenix, Kidd was quoted as saying that he always had wanted to play for the Lakers (this was the first time I really began to dislike him).

Is there a way for Kidd to link up with the Lakers? If there is, I do believe LA could pry him away from NJ.

The problem with that is Kidd is totally wrong for the triangle offense.

Nah, he's staying in NJ. Where else could he go?

He could end up in LA if he signs for less then the max. I don't see that happening, his agent wouldn't let him. The one who wears the pants in that relationship will want to stay in Jersey, and Jason better listen to her!

JCSunsfan, "The problem with that is Kidd is totally wrong for the triangle offense."

The point guard is not critical in the triangle offense so it may not a good idea to spend a bundle of that slot, but other than his salary Jason would be a fine PG for a 'triangle' team - and would be great if they wamted to have a strong transition game. It would be better if he had a more dependable outside shot but that's equally true of any offense he finds himself in. I'd say that Jason would be a better fit at PG for the Lakers than Fisher is because the latter often has trouble making the entry pass to the post. Heck, I'll bet that Tex Winter could come up a rotation within the triangle framework that exploited Kidd's post up ability.

On the other hand it's true that the triangle offense is not a good fit for Jason Kidd, because some of his strong points are superfluous. If the 'triangle' team didn't want to get out on the break it would really be a waste for him.
