I'm not sure every player take the ring over the money. A matter of fact, majority of NBA players choose money first. If Boozer hadn't cheat the Cavs FO, they wouldn't be seeking a PF now.

Gooden is 27 years old, next contract might be very important for him, especially under present economy environment. He would be full-time starter, consistently 25mpg+, a lot of touches when Shaq sits. He might not win a ring, but will probably be an important factor for us to make the playoff and hopefully pass the first round. That would definitely help him a lot in summer.

Right. With the great reputation of Suns training staff for their work with Shaq, Dice, Hill, he'd be at least getting that benefit on this team.

That's a very good point. Gooden had injury problems back to his time in Cleveland. His recent injury rumored to be serious, though he played a game for the Kings for 13 boards and 12 points after the trade. If he wants to grab a sizeful multi-year contract this summer, he must prove himself to be completely healthy. We certainly have a great reputation there.

Meanwhile, I am hoping Sarver to be wise this time. The regular season only has several weeks left, the salary together with tax to pay for Gooden or whoever else is minor, probably less than 2M. The overall loss by missing the playoff should be much more than that. Also, the last couple of games should have gave Saver plenty signs to be positive.
