Skimming through, there are about four or five questionable moves, but a couple really good moves. Darius Butler impressed me today.

I do have a problem with the Ziggy Hood move. I know there are some people here that like him, but I don't see him as a 3-4 NT. It also doesn't make sense since the front office will tender Gabe and make him the 3-4 NT and Beanie Wells is still on the board.

Jarron Gilbert in the first? wow...

I would rather of picked McCoy.

Looks like a bad first mock to me IMO.

With these 4 on the board...RB Chris "Beanie" Wells, TE Brandon Pettigrew, C Alex Mack, OLB Clay Mathews...I don't see a DT being the pick.

Ziggy's impressive, but isn't a NT, your right. He'd be learning an entirely new position. However Whis said we'd be in the 4-3 plenty too. Him and Dockett in the middle could be impressive.

But here's the others that were left on the board. It would be darn near impossible to pass on one of them. >>> Here's a list of the next wave of players who could break into the first round by next week's mock draft: QB Josh Freeman, RB Chris "Beanie" Wells, TE Brandon Pettigrew, C Alex Mack, OT William Beatty, OLB Clay Mathews, CB D.J. Moore and CB Alphonso Smith.

I think Whis said that because we don't have the full 3-4 personnel and didn't want to make any commitments. I don't blame him, our defense was pretty sad when running the 3-4. What we need to do to make the 3-4 commitment is sign Bart Scott, cut Chike, move Dansby, draft English, and start Campbell and Watson.

Possibly the most awful mock I have seen. Not that Hood is a bad player, but the Cards better not take him at 31. He is not even close to being the best player available nor is does he fill one of our biggest needs. Terrible mock all together.

That would be good if English would be available. I don't see that though.

This guy has a pretty good haul for us in his 4 round mock. If it turned out that way exactly I'd say sold.

1- McCoy 2- Ayers 3- Luigis 4- Coffman

If he falls past the Dolphins than I have a good feeling he'd be available at 31. It's entirely possible since I don't know if he's established himself as a 4-3 DE, which would limit the teams targeting him. The biggest team to look out for is the Pats, but if Moreno is on the board, I don't know if they can resist.

I like the Kirwan draft because he's making his own judgements. Right or wrong, he's trying to interpret what he saw with his own eyes.

it looks like Kirwin based his whole mock on the combine and forgot how players perform in an actual game.

Hood wouldn't be a NT on our team, he would take Antonio Smith's spot.

That would make sense, but I thought that when Calais was drafted he would be the heir apparent of Smith.
Honestly, I think the Cards just really didn't expect Campbell to still be here and took him because of where he was on their board. If anything, he fits best into Dockett's spot IMO.

Regardless, it was a bad pick IMO. I have said from the beginning that I didn't think whe was suitable for a 3-4 and I maintain that. I love the kid's heart, motor/effort and his skills, but I think he is gonna be Calvin Pace Pt2. Drafted into the wrong system by a stupid GM. I dont get why everyone is so damn excited about him. He was a second round pick who played in every game last year and didn't register 1 sack. Had he been drafted into a 4-3 team I think he would have been much better off.

His blurbs on each player show quite the opposite. He likes players who didn't participate or had injury that limited their combine showing.

He even likes your Laurinitis because he says productivity and the game tapes don't lie. Who he does not like is your Beanie Wells and I agree. Is that why you dismiss him?

I will say this, Patty Kirwan knows football and was in the league for quite a while. Though I think his prediction of a NT is wrong, the guy knows talent. Listen to him on Sirius radio sometime, he is very thorough in talent evaluating and team personel.

I don't remember seeing Campbell in that much, and when he was in, they typically ran the ball. I'll withhold any judgment on what system he fits in if/when he starts next season in the 3-4 formation.

no. I don't think Heyward-Bey is the 10 the overall pick,Gilbert isn't a 1st rounder, and neither is Hood or Ayers. Of course those are my opinions but none of them have been ranked that high by anyone but him and those guys all had very good combines which i think he is using to justify their 1st round status and not on the field play.

This year the Cards have no immediate holes that MUST be filled so long as everyone is healthy. I would not be surprised to see them draft at any position other than wr or qb.

I wouldn't be shocked if they traded out of the 1st round and took another teams 2nd, 3rd and a 6th. Though I'd prefer if they stayed the course.

I dont think anyone would give us that much for the 31st overall.

I agree, it sure is a breath of fresh air. Using his own views and scouting, and what makes sense to him.

Kirwin is one of the better talent evaluators imho, I enjoyed the mock. But I would not be thrilled with Ziggy, even though he could start over Campbell possibly, but not an eye popper pick for sure.

We need horses for our 3-4 and this is year 2 of Whiz putting his stamp on the team, I expect a few OLBs somewhere in the draft.
