Can anyone explain to me how Kingsbury is a better coach than say Sonny Dykes?
You don't like him...we get it.
Who do you want as HC?

Since Kingsbury is under contact, doesn't Swann have the right to deny him the ability to interview anywhere? Seriously, asking.

Brian: Do you know what happened with the interview with the Cardinals? Did he pass on it or did he take it and decide not for him or was he blocked?

Yes. They wanted to interview him. Per protocol they asked USC for permission. This permission until this instance was always a formality. Swann then said no.
I'm told KK was stunned and angry. Chances of him getting hired were slim at best, but if he resigns, he will probably interview and not get hired. BUT, he can find an OC position or a consultant position with ease.
Nobody outside of Swann thinks this was a wise move. Like I said, people are trying to talk sense into Swann now to gracefully alter his position
The irony is that KK was thrilled to be here. He's never had so many weapons and was salivating at what he thinks he can accomplish. Swann with one silly move has taken that enthusiasm and good will and has taken it away. You don't do this and no one ever had until now.

Ryan Abraham is a legit USC insider, so this carries weight. I could see KK quitting and get at worst an OC job in the pros. Worthy risk, imo

The New England Patriots are preparing to lose Josh McDaniels to a potential head coaching gig this offseason, and they may already have a replacement in mind.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Sunday that Kliff Kingsbury is a name to keep an eye on. The former Texas Tech coach recently signed a deal with USC to be serve as offensive coordinator under Clay Helton, but Florio notes that they have blocked him from interviewing for other jobs and he may consider paying a small buyout to get out of the contract.
