But what incentive would a coach that is under contract already have to break the rules for what would be no more than a lateral?

If the Browns say, you can’t talk to any team because we 1) have you on our short list for HC and 2) if you aren’t selected we want the new HC to have the option of keeping you...I can’t see either coach (Kitchens or Williams) doing that, through their agents or otherwise
"hello, this is Greg"

"Hey Greg, if you don't stay in Cleveland, you wanna run my D?"

"Sure if I can have a bounty program"

"Alright cool, let me know if something changes over there"

"Bet"

And he risks people never calling him on the side again for being a snitch

This guy still gets jobs after being suspended for a year so I don’t think that would be an issue

Why would anyoneanyon need to talk to them directly? Everything is done via back channels and agents anyway. The only thing public are formal interviews.

Any confirmation the Cardinals are actually interviewing KK?

“I’m not surprised at all,” said one AFC college scouting director. “He’s a really innovative offensive coach, he’s charismatic, he has that kind of feel to him. I think he’s kind of what the new age of these offensive coaches are now. Everyone’s trying to find the next McVay. … He produced a really good offense every year, and fell victim to the same thing the rest of the conference falls victim to. And try and get a kid to go to Lubbock.”

Another AFC exec said, “I’m not surprised at all. He’s a young, innovative offensive mind. With the success of guys like that [in the NFL], of course the NFL would want to talk to him.”

Following up that reddit report about Kilff being offered the job. There is a SC insider who claims KK turned down the Cardinals. Didnt say much more than that, but he wants the Jets job.

I guess we will find out whats going on this week.

The way it was worded sounds like a USC honk trying to justify the current mess they’re in.

My understanding is that there was no follow-up interest from KK with the Cards but there is with coaching Sam in the NFL.

So as of 1 hr ago Cowherd says KK will be hired by AZ “very soon”. If true it will both excite a large portion of the fan base and have another portion questioning their sanity.

The fact that schefter said there was mutual interest leads me to believe that it’s very viable.

Kliff Kingsbury's name has been removed from USC's list of coaches on the school's website, FYI.

Edit: He might be mistaken in classic Bob fashion

Wow

Cowherd is a not so in the closet USC fan so not a surprise.

I don't know about HC I have to admit I'm pretty excited about having him work with Rosen. he's worked with Mahomes and Mayfield, I think he can do wonders for Josh.

There was a tweet about his biggest challenge being building an OL wherever he goes and that the hiring of a quality/competent OL coach would be priority #1.

That would be true with the Jets too of course
