I think putting Hill on Amar'e is actually a pretty decent idea. He's certainly our smartest defender, and even though Amar'e has 10 points in the first 10 minutes, Hill has kept him shooting jump shots. It'd be one thing if Hill wasn't as intelligent a defender as he is, in which case he might get into trouble on the block. But he's fast enough to get down the court before Amar'e to prevent Amar'e from establishing deep post position. With the Knicks' up-tempo, quick-hitting style of offense, the larger impact of Amar'e beating his defender down the court isn't necessarily him getting the ball, but rather that it will force other Suns defenders to collapse on him for a second to help Amar'e's primary defender. When that happens, it gives the Knick role players the opportunity to get good looks from the perimeter. Not to say that the Suns aren't going to give up plenty of wide open 3's anyway, but at least you don't compound that innevitability with more open 3's, allowing guys to get even more comfortable and confident than they already would be.

Having said that, who knows why Childress was out there. He's not good at the game of basketball.

How does Warrick play Amare and Gentry keeps Gortat on the bench. Pathetic. I hope Nash asks for a trade. Gentry is overmanaging this to a defeat.

Nash is hurting us defensively soo much. I think I would easily score 40 pts on Nash. He's just soo horrible defensively.

Felton is having a party. Its as if its Felton's coming back game not Amare's.

What a pathetic effort by the whole team.

Oh yeah, that's why we suck - Gentry is "overmanaging". Are you sure it's not because they are more talented than we are? And their pieces fit together MUCH better than ours do?

No he isn't. No one else is doing anything. There is no big man to stop anything, unless you expect Grant Hill to reject drives to the hoop.

Suns down 55-45 after the 2nd quarter. :( Suns shooting 40% with 2/10 3 pointers, Knicks 46% with 8/18 3 pointers. :(

Suns have committed 8 turnovers (Nash with 3), Knicks 12.

Suns have 2 offensive rebounds, Knicks 7. :(

Suns have hit 11/15 free throws, Knicks have hit 7/9 free throws. :)

Suns defense and offense still sucking. Where oh where has has our offense gone?

How about letting Steve Nash play with starters he usually plays with? he started a lineup that completely took away any pick and roll offense and that's what he excels at. Defending Gentry is one thing and there are certain things I love about him but what he did tonight so far is a JOKE.

I'm not really defending Gentry, I'm attacking our roster. Anybody that can see beyond this roster and know for sure that Gentry is doing something wrong has better eyesight that I have. I have no idea if Gentry is a good coach but I strongly believe that the best coach that ever walked the planet would struggle with this group especially given the pre and mid season changes.

I agree, our roster sucks but we shouldn't hurt ourselves even further by putting out random guys. Childress tipping off and starting? WTH. He doesn't even play in many games!! Our best player is Nash, Gentry failed to realize what Nash excels at (pick and roll) and breaking down the defense in that fashion and Nash's game thus far has shown why this change has affected him.

But you're assuming it's random. We have no idea what's taking place in practice. Also, Dantoni (and Amare) knows Nash and our pick and roll better than anybody.

Why does Nash insist on going under the screen against Felton? :(

How Daft is Nash, Felton must hit 3 of those shots each time he goes under the screen

This game is a fan killer. The few remaining casual fans will head for the exits and turn off their tv's.
