Serviceman in one of America's foreign wars "Sarge, I need to bug out, the old lady's about to give birth".
Are you suggesting that Kellen Winslow Jr. might be having a baby on Sunday?

Wow. That's from 2003?! Man, I'm old. I never would have guessed he's been in the league almost 10 years.

Those booing wouldn't have to be "Lindley fans" or "Skelton fans" ... they would only have to be fans that were not optimistic of #4 behind center. The ABK crowd - Anybody But Kolb.

We were at the game and watched every second and the boos weren't that noticeable to us or many we have talked with since. Maybe it was isolated to Donald's section or something? :D

It was reported in several media reports, and by players as well.

Our section is loud, but not that loud. :p

If the baby is ready, they could induce birth. I hope the little one decides to stay in there until after Sunday. A win by daddy over the Eagles would be a heck of a birthday present.

Another fantastic endorsement of Kevin Kolb's ability to exercise good judgement. :D

Ross Tucker talked about this in the preseason, when Jay Cutler missed practice or a game to attend to the birth of his kid with former Real OC star and Matt Leinart plaything Kristin Cavillari. What Tucker said was that coaches are incredbily cognizant of this schedule and straight-out remind players that if they're going to go do work, they can take the day off and take care of business, because the season starts in 9 months.

What a *******. Having said all that, there's a perfectly good hospital about two miles from UofP, and the game only lasts three hours. Put a cork in her and wait until the final gun.
I agree... what a ******* for perfectly planning this.

I wouldn't mind seeing Skelton this sunday. He may be better with a gimpy ankle than Kolb against this pass rush.

She's not going to have it Sunday...She is due October 4th- the day we play St. Louis in St Louis on national tv (Thursday Night Football). You watch, mark my words- Kolb will have the game of his life and beat Philly and turn around and beat Miami in a dominant way (making him the starter all year) Then he won't play that Thursday (October 4th) and we will be forced to start Skelton and we will lose our first game....It's the Arizona way....LOL

Arrest warrant issued for Vick's brother, per NFL.com, so both QB's might have family on the mind.

Marcus Vick getting in trouble is like the Sun rising. When he got thrown out of school and told reporters that it was no big deal, he would now just take his game "to the next level" he was clearly referring to prison.

Lol maybe Vick will get a phone call at halftime from his brother for some bailout money. The call distracts him the rest of the game and he does bad :)

That's kind of a silly comment. Marcus Vick has an arrest warrant for driving on a suspended license and not showing up in court.

Mike Vick used to kill dogs. He doesn't give a rat's ass about this. No comparison to childbirth.

Glad you can read into other peoples' minds and know what makes them tick. Both QB's had non-football articles written about them this week. Sorry pointing that out was so silly.

Sorry, but my priorities must be in the wrong place. I'm all about kids as I came from a family of 8 & I have 4 of my own............BUT. His career may very well hinge on his performance this weekend. If he decides to miss the game & we lose, then he can kiss his career in AZ goodbye. Skelton is close to coming back & the job would be handed to him on a silver platter. With today's technology, she's close enough that they can induce labor beforehand, so that a game day isn't affected. Furthermore, what the hell is wrong with his wife?? I talked to my wife about this & she said this is ridiculous. When you marry a professional athlete, especially a football player with a 16 game schedule, you better take measures to not have your child on a Sunday. My wife said she would NEVER, EVER have me miss this game if I were Kevin Kolb. It's one thing if your Peyton Manning & you've led your team to the promised land on a regular basis. My wife is a maternity nurse & said that this isn't 1950. Once you get to 38 weeks, you can almost plan your child's birth down to the hour, especially with this being her 3rd kid. If Kolb isn't on that field on Sunday, I'll be ready to move on to Skelton, Lindley, etc, etc.

JMHO, but yes, I believe they are.

Kolb is set with his millions. He'll keep playing football for at least the next few years in some capacity and continue to make hundreds of thousand of dollars per year--regardless of what happens to him in AZ. It's a different story if Kolb is just a guy making $30K a year and this is his one shot at a fortune...but that's not the case.

This child will only enter the world once.

Again, JMHO. I'm not trying to say you are definitively wrong--there isn't a definitive right answer. But I don't think fans should look at him as less of a competitor, teammate or football player for choosing the birth of his child over a football game...no matter how much money is on the line.

You are paid millions
you only work 16 days per year (if you are healthy) - I means days you are suppose dto show up for work.
birth of a child isn't an excuse
you can do this at work if there's someone will cover you or one day off won't affect the business
but one game in football can affect the whole season

You will have 1-4 children, likely. They will have real lives, and live for many decades. They will bring you joy and sadness.

You will be an old man, and you will look at your children as the greatest thing you've ever done, not a football game won or lost in September of 2012.

Yes, he will look at them living happily and wealthy not like other kids whose parents probably couldn't risk losing one day job wage to attend their birth. It happens.

Yes. She is due Oct. 4th. She is about 38 weeks along and a full term pregnancy is approximately 40 weeks.

She is so close that there is a chance that she could go into labor at any time which is why Kolb asked her to postpone a routine checkup with her doctor for fear that it might induce labor or something.

Family first.... Fans second. Hopefully it doesn't happen till Monday.

Always.

The birth of his child is far more important than a football game and anyone who thinks differently has their priorities all screwed up. I hope it waits and he can play but if not, I surely would not hold it against him.

Agree 100%.

Family wins. No hard feelings if he misses the game. Football is his job; his family is his life.

I think some people forget that this is, indeed, his job. Would you guys pick your job over your family? I hope not.

I disagree. I have 3 kids and there was no bigger waste of time than hanging around while they were being born listening to my wife cuss me for getting her into that mess.

Especially with the 3rd one. That's the one who asks you when he/she turns 8 or 9 if they were adopted because they're are hardly any pictures of them when they were a baby.

They can set things up at Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale. Which would be cool because it has the same name as an NFL stadium.

What does Kolb make $750,000 a game? He needs to show up for work. We didn't see guys hanging around with their wives 50-60 years ago and we call them the greatest generation.

Love you, Duckjake, but I disagree. If his wife wants him there, then he needs to be there. Family first.

Those booing wouldn't have to be "Lindley fans" or "Skelton fans" ... they would only have to be fans that were not optimistic of #4 behind center. The ABK crowd - Anybody But Kolb.

I heard them in 125, and I cheered loudly for Kolb. I am a fan of all of our QBs because I don't think any of them have won the starting job quite yet.

His career in the NFL may be on the line, but I am pretty sure Kolb can do something else if this doesn't work out.

And, seriously, you are attacking his wife? Make sure you don't give birth on a Sunday? I am surprised you have any kids, let alone four. Inducing birth isn't for convenience; it is for medical reasons (in most cases). And I would challenge your wife to predict births down to the hour. If she could, I am sure she would have a lucrative career in something other than nursing.

You remind me of people that complain about teachers only working 180 days a year. Do you REALLY think pro football players ONLY spend 16 days doing their job? What do you consider "showing up" for work? Cause I think anytime you are putting your mind, heart and soul into your job, it constitutes "showing up" for work.

Seriously, people.
