yuck. steelers know when to let guys go... have not learned that lesson from pretty watching pretty much every one of their guys going on to do worse on their new teams... INCLUDING OURS?! McFadden, Oliver Ross, Faneca, Porter and the beat goes on and on... the definition of insanity is making the same mistake repeatedly. we need to end that cycle already. Joseph is a stud CB who's young... make a play for a guy like that for pete's sake before you go get pitts leftovers.

and they didn't let Ike Taylor go so they must know something about that old, washed up CB of theirs.

Eagles still have all of the leverage, regardless of the market. If they don't get what they want then they just don't have to trade him, and you better believe they will not trade him if they do not get what they want. Does not matter what ever else is going on in the NFL as we speak, they have set the price not the market. Sure you can just wait a year until he is a free agent, but by then Fitz walks. Sure you can try for Orton but Miami has a say in that as well, as do the Broncos. Sure you can sign Hasselbeck, but the Titans have a say in that as well, as does Fitz who may not like the idea of a very old, inaccurate QB who doesn't throw touchdowns. Eagles still hold all the cards without a doubt.

Anyway you slice it a trade of DRC plus any pick at all is going to firmly put the rope around this staffs neck, and if it does not work or is even only average, the lever without a doubt will be pulled. It will be the last and final decision deciding their fates. There would be no middle ground, especially with the fans.

Kent Somers thinks the deal is going to be done soon for DRC and a 2nd. He better be worth it because I think this is going to backfire badly.

Somers didn't say that, he passed along a tweet from Tim Ring from news channel 3 here in AZ.

Got to say though I am very skeptical of Tim Ring as a source on this. Don't think he has any insiders with the Cards and I don't see any ties to Philly at all.

We shall see. We were also told this deal was done months ago, so who the heck knows anymore.

The Cardinals will rue the day they trade DRC for Kolb. What an awful move if they do it. Joe hit the nail on the head. There is no middle ground with this. Wiz let most of DG's talent go and now he's starting to use his own talent as trade bait and letting them walk. If DRC and Breaston go this team will have taken a huge step back. This team is a 6-7 win team max with or without Kolb.

Mike Brown and Bill Bidwill love to shove it to the media.

The Cards are going to trade Beanie for Palmer because Palmer fits perfectly with Whisenhunt.

Totally loaded (thanks Mr. Brown), big house on the West Coast, tons of time with the kids to watch them grow and golf tournaments on the itinerary.

Soon to be former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is scheduled to participate during this year's American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament.

the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals is scheduled to play the opening round in the American Century Championship tomorrow morning in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Whisenhunt is one of 85 athletes, coaches and celebrities in the event, which is celebrating its 22nd birthday this year. He'll be paired with fellow football junkie Trent Dilfer, and NASCAR drive Dale Jarret on Friday.

Whisenhunt is one of 37 current or former NFL'ers in the field. He's not quite on the level as guys like Tony Romo and Billy Joe Tolliver, two of the favorites to win the title. But Whisenhunt is no slouch whatsoever on the links. He finished 18th in last year's event, which I believe was the first year that he's played in the popular event. Whisenhunt is listed as a 20:1 favorite to win.

All the great deals are made on the golf course.

:D

I know the coaches wont say it, the guys who cover the Cards for a living and respect Fitz wont say it, but I have a strong feeling that we can not under estimate the power Fitz has in this decision.

Remember when Fitz said in a recent interview concerning a question about an extension, he something to the effect "we will see just how much they appreciate me" or something to that effect. He could have been talking about Kolb.

Fitz is the face of the franchise, and for good reason, great player who is also a great dude. Just to show how much power or how big of a voice he might have, he asked and got permission from the Cardinals to bring his offseason coach Jerry Sullivan with him to Flagstaff. The Cards are literally letting Fitz bring his OWN coach to camp even though we already have a WR coach.

I am probably way off base and I readily admit that, but it is a strong feeling that I have none the less.

They're going to trade him, just bluffing to get a better deal.

if they do trade DRC I'd say they HAVE to replace him with a good corner in FA, but considering they replaced Dansby with hot freaking garbage, I know they don't have to do anything... and probably won't.

I just talked to my nephew who's in the ARMY deployed in Afghanistan right now on skype. He's a big Cards fan and asked me what was going on. I told him what the Eagles want for Kolb and he said the following two things.

"WTF isn't he their backup QB?"
and
"If the Cardinals do that they are #$****# stupid"

There you have it straight from the troops.

If the Vikings and Redskins have a deal in place to ship McNabb to Minnesota, why isn't Washington being mentioned in the Kolb(WCO QB) sweepstakes?

I doubt the Eagles want to deal him in the division. They did it with Mcnabb but obviously the Eagles knew how that was gonna work out for Washington.

Yeah, don't know why that didn't even cross my mind.

Just think, the Cards could work a three way deal if they wanted to get really creative.

Even Larry knows that what the Eagles are asking is outrageous.

Just got a message from my brother ... die hard Eagles fan.

He says, yeah, Kolb's better than what we got, but so is Orton. Kolb has two looks and never sees a third. Asked if we had an oline cause we'll need one with Kolb. Says that, yeah, Kolb can be good, but he can also be bad. Says he doesn't think Kolb is very good and he says he's sorry for me and my team. Says he's not the guy. Apologized a few times actually, lol.

Yeah, I know my brother is just another guy, but I figured I'd share anyway. Wish I had had the chance to actually talk to him. His message was left under the premise that we are just giving up DRC. He would probably die if he knew the latest rumor of DRc and a first or second.

Ugh.

That's because anyone not completely drunk off their ass on Kolb Koolaid can see the situation for what it is.

The Eagles are asking for 2 first round picks for their backup QB who's started 7 games last year and only played well in 3 of them.

The only question is which team is dumb enough to bend over for them, I so hope it's not us.

I hope Kolb winds ups up staying with the Eagles. I am done with the Kolb circus.

All I can say is thank God for Rod Graves. With all this talk about trading away DRC (a young Pro-Bowl CB) and a 1st or 2nd round pick for a quarterback that is going to be a FREE AGENT in less than a year (you know, those things that don't require losing draft picks or players to sign), who reportedly will want a huge contract even though he hasn't proven anything, I sure would be worried if it weren't for our front offices stellar record in personnel moves. Just think of all the times he's come out on top with those types of decisions. I mean, it's nice not to worry about getting Suggs or AP re-signed in the near future.

Yep, I'm looking forward to sleeping soundly knowing that our front office wouldn't do anything as stupid as taking the reported deal. :barf:

(By the way, didn't the NFL just set up a new CBA and rookie pay scale to AVOID teams paying massive amounts of money for unproven players?) :bang:
