My concern is that the expectations for Skelton will be too high. You cannot expect him to come in at this point and be a Brady.

I have said for a long time that I think Skelton is the QBOTF. I'm willing to wait for him while giving him some more playing time. I'd like to see what he can do this season. He showed a lot of composure as a rookie. I'm not down so much on Kolb as I like Skelton better.

With our luck, they'll play Bartel.... someone no one is interested in

I was interested in him. He's a tough Texas kid and I thought he could be a decent #2. Until he came in and promptly sucked eggs against the Vikings.

I wonder what it is about Whisenhunt's complicated offense that makes QBs throw the ball at the feet or over the heads of their WRs?

I don't think Skelton looked too good during his starts last year but I really liked what I saw out of him this preseason.

Last year Skelton excelled in 2 areas that Kolb is a complete disaster. Skelton minimizes his turnovers and he gets the ball away rather than taking a stupid sack, and he did it with a worse line than our current one. He is inaccurate, without a doubt. But the Skelton we saw last year also wont kill you... and probably could preserve a gift wrapped 21 point lead.

To Skelton (or Bartel)....your Cardinals QB Wasteland Survival Guide.

Well Skelton, if you plan to stand in the pocket like a normal QB, just realize you're doing so with the tackle blocking prowress of flag football (there isn't any). Just pretend you don't have tackles, and playing with 3 o-linemen and you'll have a more accurate judgement of how things will unfold.

Given this, I suggest you proactively wear a flakjacket. I also should stress that you should beg Whis to use 6 ol on a regular basis, keep a te in, and a rb to chip. Now not all plays should you have those three extra blockers, but for many you should.

Also don't worry about the int's, you'll have no time to read more than two receivers. So just make sure they are on different sides of the field so no one can accuse you of locking in on one receiver. You won't have more time than that, and once you step up, make sure you risk running into your ol, rather than turn around. You won't know which way it's coming, but rest assured, the pressure will be coming from behind you, the majority of time from the left, the majority of the time from the right, and many of the time from multiple people from one side, or both.

On the couple drop backs a game you actually have time, don't be surprised (although you should be), you must complete these passes, as they will be your only shot.

Don't throw to Andre Roberts, he's the new update version of Skillet hands...at least when it's a difficult, not a perfectly thrown pass.

Good luck Skelton, you're going to need it. This is the worst line you've been behind, not upfront, but from the tackle position. These guys just suck.

Kolb cant blame the OT's. He sucks. He had his moments where he stepped into the pocket but he just cant get rid of the ball fast enough and panics when things break down at all. Every QB is pressured, this line sucks but today he had alot more time than I thought he would and he just did nothing with it. He again played right up to his career stats. Why Whis, Graves or fans expect more from him is the big question. He is not that good. On a really good team with a great line he might look better but he is not a cornerstone with which this franchise can build.

That built in clock in a QBs head that is missing from Kobs head. There is a big empty spot there. We have as good a shot as anyone for the first pick. If I were the Bidwills I would take a long vacation and get out of Dodge.

The offense is so complex, Warner and Max Hall are the only guys that could comprehend it. I'm sure that's why Skelton gets no respect from Whiz. That's the way engineers think. Everybody else is inferior. They have a hard time with dumbing things down so others will understand. I wish they would though. There's other offenses that are much simpler having much more success. Look at Carolina. Skelton just might be a poor man's Cam Newton.

I think not doing 2-3 combined fumbles and picks and not taking 15 yard sacks might count as "high expectations" after suffering through 7 weeks of Kolb.

Kind of like how excepting a ball to be thrown within 10 yards of a receiver was high expectations after Anderson.

One of two things will happen if Kolb can't play.

1. Skelton comes in and looks absolutely better than Kolb or

2. He show us all that Kolb is not as bad as we may think to this point.

I will bet the house if Skelton comes in and throws for 400 yds. and 4 td's , Whiz would put Kolb back in the following week.

I do, but for the future. I believe Skelton will turn into a good NFL QB with time. He might as well start getting the experience now since the Cardinals are not going anywhere. I've always liked his size and composure.

Skelton has had more experience and two years in this thing, he's as ready as he's going to be to drive the car.

The developmental stuff is over, it should of sunken in by now, now he just has to play and execute the stuff which he should have more of a clue on how to do than Kolb does when you think about it.

That and he'll have a full week with the number one's, it's go time, yeah a reason to watch.

We already had that situation a couple of years ago. Leinart was the starter, broke his collarbone and that's when Kurt came in and started playing like his old GSOT self. After which Whis said, "players don't lose their job due to injury."

I just don't see the coaches/front office giving up on a guy they invested so heavily in after half a season. That being said, if Skelton gets a week or two with Kolb hurt and plays well.. that might just add some excitement to a lost season!

My theory: This is how we figure out who is really in charge, Mr. B or Michael.

If Kolb plays the rest of the year (even if he sits out a game or two and we win those games) Mr. B is in charge. He wants to get his money's worth.

If Skelton comes in for Kolb and plays well and remains the QB, or if Skelton is now played instead of Kolb, Michael is in charge. This shows us Michael wants to win and doesn't care about the $$ spent on Kolb.

I don't think that Skelton can block edge rushers or separate for defensive backs which leads me to believe that he will struggle.

I hate the idea of being glad that one of our players is injured. I'll just say that I'm glad Skelton is getting this opportunity instead. He wasn't accurate last year, but he played with the poise of some of the best QBs in the game, and he played smart. This from a 5th-round rookie from Fordham with no playing or practice time. Yeah, I'll back him to do better than Kolb has so far. Did we even have more than 10 yards passing in the second half?

Maybe Whis should have made the change to Skelton on that last drive if Kolb was hurting. Lets give him a shot!

Graves swears we are in year 3 of a five year rebuilding program.

He's lying.

Graves is the biggest lier in the organization.

That is why he has a job. Because he takes a low salary, and can sleep at night when knowingly lying to the masses through the media.

Heck he should be a politician.
