I think Mikey and/or Keim likes him even more than I do. Stanton is a huge upgrade over Skelton, so our back up will be ready if/when Kolb goes down. If he was going to be cut he would be cut by now...don't ya think?

Kolb would be cut already, but all of the typing today at the facility has caused Carpal tunnel since no one is use to working that much that fast. I hear John Lott has even been working with the admin staff.

By Friday, we'll know. It's still good to keep if he accepts pay cut. Seems we're not looking to draft a QB in early rounds since they will go for OL's

He's not John Skelton.

Honestly though, I don't really understand the whole Drew Stanton thing. Him coming here was the worst kept secret since Bruce Arians signed but I never saw the need to celebrate or anything.

From what I remember, he was a relatively highly ranked QB coming out of college who had everything you could ask for in a QB but had problems with consistency. He's a mold of a great QB but doesn't really put it together. Maybe at this point in his career he can? I doubt it and I doubt he'll become anything more than a backup or spot starter.

If we had dropped Kolb, then I'd know without a doubt in my heart that the tank was full on.

Well, with the rookie wage scale now...any chance the Cardinals might just eat the $2 Million bonus for Kolb and wait to see how the draft unfolds? They could feasibly draft a QB at #7 and still pay way less for him, including Kolb's bonus, than in years past.

I know it's a crazy thought, but these are the Cardinals.

I'm excited about Stanton because it
1) signals the start of a post Kolb new era most likely

2) Means the Cards won't reach in the first round for a QB...most likely.

What date does he have to be cut by to not count against our cap in 2014?
