IF AND WHEN HEALTHY...
if BLOK is not released tomorrow, Keim and company lose all credibility.

Why hasn't Kolb been cut yet???? I don't think Mikey was all you have to keep him but it was suggested to try and make it work......if possible.
At this point the bucks owed Kolb and how much more he brings to the party than Stanton tells me he gets cut. Hoyer showed just about as much as Kolb.
Thinking of who has been cut and the fact that Kolb is still getting crazy money makes me wonder.
Part of me wonders how last season would have went if Kolb could have stayed healthy. I honestly believe the Cards would have won at least 9 games, probably 11. Is this the reason he hasn't been cut yet?
Think about how BAD the Oline was when Kolb was the starter and we were still winning games. What could Kolb have accomplished when Potter was inserted and Massie started playing well?
The idea that this management team believes that somehow Kevin Kolb can be rehabilitated or something should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about this management team.
if they don't cut him, I agree. but I think he's only got a couple more hours as a Cardinal left in him.

Oh, I expect they'll cut him. I guess they're just being ***** about it, or burying the story of this until the media doesn't have an audience to report it to (i.e., at 1 p.m. on Friday--like they did with Beanie).
But if they somehow KEPT Kolb and his gargantuan Cap number, or even at a reduced number? Basically forecloses any chance of this team competing, wasting the prime of Fitz and Campbell, maybe Washington.
So if the Cards keep Kolb for one more year, than it will ruin Fit's, Cambell's, and D-Wash's careers? I didn't know you was a drinker bro...![]()
I think if Kolb re-structures, under the Cards terms, which is unlikely, that he'll be on the team. No matter what has been said, he's still better than Stanton or Hoyer.
However, with talk of the Jets and how quickly Cassel was signed, I see no reason why Kolb would agree to the Cards terms and will be let go.
I still think Leinart is better than anyone we have- sue me.
At what, holding a clipboard or throwing a check down?

I thought I read somewhere yesterday, the Cards get more cap relief if Kolb is a June 1st cut, rather than cutting him by today....they can pay his $2 million today, but save a lot more against the cap, by cutting him June 1st.

Yup, just checked Urbans article from last night night. The way I read it, if Kolb is cut today the Cards save 7.5 million, but they save 11.5 million after June 1st....so, pay $2 million to save $4 million.

Don't they have the ability to designate 1 or 2 released players as "June 1st Cuts"? If true that's the best of both. Save the $2 million as well.

There is a provision that allows teams to designate two pre-June 1 releases for a post-June 1 Salary Cap treatment. This allows players to be released earlier and have an opportunity to sign with another team before they have spent all of their free agent money.
