QB Kevin Kolb said rehab has "hit a wall." Frustrated and is still working, but did not sound optimistic to return soon. #AZvsSEA

It sounds we could have seen the last of Kolb this year. If he doesn't come back again this season, he will have played in 15 games over the last two years, and he was knocked out in the first quarter in one of them. I'm not questioning his toughness, but relying on him to stay healthy for a full season just doesn't seem realistic anymore.

With the injury he had, I never expected him to return this year. And I'll be surprised if he ever plays again. (Which is one reason I'm ticked they didn't bring in a QB. Surely they knew how serious this was.)

That's means, Im already healed, and the season is over. I don't want to risk getting hurt, or have a bad year, because he has the record of 4-0 in the beggining of the season and he doesn't want to Risk his chances of playing elsewhere.

Actually it means that he has been throwing the ball causing major swelling in the injured area. It is in Urbans twitter if you read through it. Nice job assuming that the guy has no character or heart. That is different than being brittle.

dude's just too brittle to depend on. a smart team would realize they have no choice but to move on.

There are serious issues if he is not done on this team unless he flat out takes a paycut.

Yeah he had a record of 4-0 and then started getting killed every snap and went 0-2 with miserable numbers before getting knocked out. With a 12.9 sack percentage I can understand why he wants to wait longer before coming back.

Pay cut or not, there are serious issues if he's brought back at all IMO.

If we're relying on him to start yes, if he's in there until the new Qb is ready, or as the backup, I'd be ok with it.

But he's going to get hurt again so if we assume he's the starter next year then it's a HUGE mistake.

Neither did I. It really sounded bad. I do think he will heal and could play next season. However, the real bottom line is that he is injury prone. Cards really need to move on. Our qb situation is the worst in the NFL. Back to the drawing board.

I think he is still concussed and is just flashing back to the hit that ended his year more than likely.

Paycut is a given if he's still with the team in 2013. Urban, Somers, and Jurecki have all implied that will be the case.

What's more important to Kolb is if he'll be welcomed back at all after another long-term injury that seems to linger longer than it should.

I haven't been a big Kolb fan because it seemed like every year the more he played the worse he got. But I have to say he was able to temper his flight mechanism in the face of horrendous pass protection this season.

However, this is the 4th time in 3 seasons he's been injured and missed games. Time to move on to someone more durable. Typically Cardinal is that Skelton was named starter because he was considered more durable and he promptly gets knocked out of action.

I still think the Cards should start Lindley for one series or one snap even and then insert Kolb or Skelton whichever one is healthy because they seem to suck as starters and do ok as relievers.

Hell, if I was Kolb, I would do exactly the same thing, even if I was healthy enough to play. With the way Whiz has handled QB's, (especially his utter failure to even try to improve the likelyhood that they would be less susceptible to injury), ie no help on the O-line, no improvement in running backs, no improvement in TE's or blocking backs. He did not even choose to change his playcalling to help eliminate the dangers to his QB's. Why should any of his QB's want to go back to getting beat up for 4 more games?

I think Kolb showed some signs of being a decent QB before getting pounded to death. I agree he is very brittle.

A pay cut sounds great if he would do it not sure. I think until we have a better option we need to keep Kolb. I think we should target a guy in the draft with in the first two rounds and have them back up Kolb until he gets hurt again or flat out starts sucking.

Kolb may not be the guy but he is the best option we have and can be used until a rookie is ready to go.

Kolb probably tripped at home and "hit a wall" causing another injury.

The only QB that gets sacked at such a high rate in our offense is Kolb, that's not a coincidence. Dude can't sniff out blitzes, backpedals into too many sacks, and when he does get hit almost inevitably gets hurt. The exact polar opposite of our current QB's who use the pocket effectively yet can't throw a pass to the water out of a boat. Kolb either needs to become full time backup at a lower salary or get cut. Can't depend on him.

Kolb might be the worse candidate possible to babysit the starting job while we develop a rookie, he is always one play away from missing 8-10 weeks. If you want to shield a young player you need someone more durable.

Doesn't Big Ben have the same injury, and he is coming back maybe next week. Kolb had been out for almost 2 months. I'm just saying, if the glove fits wear it.You probably think the same thing with heap. There is reason why people have been calling out people for not playing through injuries.

Kolb's brittleness reminded me of former Flyer Tim Kerr. He was a great talent but couldn't stay healthy. He once missed the NHL finals with a knee injury he received by stepping on a puck.

Even on similar locations its hard to judge 2 injuries the same. And I think Ben separated 2 ribs and Kolb's was 3... might be wrong though. We dont know how displaced the injury was, how jacked up the surrounding tissue got... and you're dealing with cartridge and bone, that stuff does not heal on a predictable time table.

But... to reinforce your point, Ben has a history of playing in-spite of some nasty injuries, to the point of it maybe not being worth keeping him out there. While Kolb can miss 2 months with a toe.
