Does anyone know what happened to Koley Kolberg (RHP, 7th round 2004, UofA) and Jason Urquidez (RHP, 17th round 2005. ASU)? I know that Kolberg was rumored to be considering quitting, but neither are on any affiliate rosters .

Kolberg was supposed to be a nut case. I think it's a pretty safe assumption that he either quit or was not asked back. As for Urquidez, I have no idea where he is. Also MIA is 2005 4th rounder Mark Romanczuk. Sometimes guys get injured in spring training and it's not reported. I don't want to throw out accusations but another possibility is steroids

From azrepublic article about dbacks+steroids said:
They also rid themselves of several “potential time bombs in the waiting’’ under previous ownership, Kendrick said.

Kendrick refused to name names, but did say those players are no longer in the game.
Maybe the above refers to minor league players?

Both guys actually had decent years last year, although when you're 22 you better be destroying Single-A ball if the MLB is in the near future. Sounds like both these guys either saw the writing on the wall and got out or are hurt. Minor league baseball player as your only work experience with an ASU or UA degree does not make for a very good resume when you're thirty.

And the UA quitting joke was probably the weakest smack I have ever seen.

The Tribune the other day stated that Urquidez has been injured this season, so he may not have left the organization after all.

You mean like Carpenter threatning to transfer when he didn't win the job or Keller actually leaving after Koetters inexplicable reversal?

I think both those guys are Devil alums, correct......?

I figured.

But I am defender of all that is UA. A University of Arizona patriot if you will. Any slight is guaranteed to get a response. Just ask all the guys in the "College Sports" section of the site:D
