Alright now lets try and get eaither Artest or Mike Miller to match the spurs getting Kurt Thomas
Marginal upgrade at best. Nothing to lose sleep over
Now I can quit having that nightmare where the Spurs roll Barry out onto the floor in a wheelchair and he hits a 3 to bury the Suns.
I wonder what the next move is gonna be.
Denver.......youre on deck !!! Houston, be ready.
So how smart is the Seattle GM?
He gets three first round picks for paying Kurt Thomas' average salary for one season.

And KT contributed a lot to their team in the locker room and on the court as well. Basically he even earned his salary.
And a new home for the whole team! Aint no stoppin him!
Pass the crack. He played Amare pretty well last week when they played.
This sucks but it could be worse. At least I like the idea of SA getting KT better than them getting Artest.

their Gm used to work for the spurs
This sounds like a fair deal for me. Doesn't really improve the Spurs.
Isn't Brent Barry an important bench player for them? Their best 3 shooters with 43%. They might be thin at SG/SF now, have to rely on Udoka who is only 32% from 3p. I don't think losing Barry is very light for them.
Elson is a servicable 7-footer, was doing fine in their system. KT is a better talent with more experience. That's a nice upgrade. But by all means KT is only 6-9 and 235lbs, how much better he can be, defending Shaq or Bynum?
The Spurs front office is all about team chemistry, the Artest rumblings were nothing more than a smokescreen for this deal. This isn't Gasol, Shaq, or Kidd but it's moves like this that have helped the Spurs get over the top in recent years.
Elson had been Pop's dog house for at least a month. It was pretty evident for anyone watching them that the guy had a very low BB IQ. He kept missing defensive rotations. KT is a big step up from that, considering he has a pretty good BB IQ.
