I take it as he loves this team, and being here is because he's coaching this team.

Not that he wants the cards job.

Calvisi is a Cards employee however. I still don't understand how he can say the stuff he does while on their payroll.

The news is they have added 3 local sports shows where espn 860 didn't have any.

Graves:

Going to Chicago tommorrow to talk to Rivera
Sherman will be in town Thursday
Finalizing slots on Fri and Sat for "candidates"
Going to Indy on Sunday to talk to Caldwell
Un-named others on Mon and Tues

Sounds like there will be more names added to the list

No real preference for offense or defense background- but will want to understand the coach's vision for the other side of the ball

noted that they want assistants who can develop, teach and motivate. Cant tolerate mediocrity (which sure sounded like a swipe at certain departed assistants)

Also stressed being highly organized.

And that there are several things they want in a leader, and he will know them when he sits across the table from him.

I think Rod learned a lot from Green, and not to take things on face value and to look closer than surface. This will help him identify what it is he is looking for.

.

So he doesnt know what he wants until he gets in an interview with him? How can you hire the right guy, if you dont know what you are looking for?

He didn't go into details about what he was looking for. Said it was a lot of things, that you can only see when you talk with them.

So one area of leadership he is looking for is intangible (and I agree, sometimes you can sit across from a natural leader and feel it exuding from them, but you can't describe it as it's a combination of several things like confidence, enthusiasm, knowledge, heart, etc.).

Graves also mentioned that he will talk with Big and based on how committed he is to playing at a high level will decide what they will do (re-sign him, franchise him, or let him go).

I really don't know how to take that kind of news

These things make me happy. It's exactly what we need to be looking for.

Ok, so I didnt hear it. I can understand the point you make if that is what you are presuming his meaning was.

I thought you meant he wasn't sure what he was looking for but "hell, I will know it when I see it" type of talk...lol

620 is a much stronger signal.

But so far the programming is much weaker.

However their website is hands down the best sports radio website in the valley and a great source for headlines and live streaming.

What the hell was that? "The Positive Side of Sports" revived? Not one critical question for Graves? Not even a "how do you defend your performance from those who think you should have been out the door too"?

If "the new 620" is going to be folks that are also on payroll to the Cardinals, the format won't last long. Calvisi, Wolfley, Moore, etc? Ugh.

Eric Kasilias (sp?) spoke up for us tonight. He asked Allen which was the more tempting vacancy, us or Atlanta. Allen said Atlanta, because of our inept ownership, and K went off. Talked about our receivers, Leinart, Edge, a fast defense...said if we pick up two OL and a good LB we'd win the NFC West.
