Wow that is ominous....

PM me some details :)

I gotta admit, I'm almost relishing this getting worse after Gad's tease. I mean, I already assume Amare walks for nothing, but how does it get worse after that? we trade Barbs and two first rounder for nothing?

It is the "forever" part that sticks out to me. I mean saying "you will disown the Suns for as long as Sarver is the owner" is one thing...

Forever is exceedingly strong.

Selling Nash for cash would put Sarver as public enemy #1.

I doubt you're too far off the mark. My best guess with limited info: Kerr is already gone. Griffin follows him out the door. Mark West or someone like him is promoted to GM. Amare gone to MIA, no S&T. We do not replace him with David Lee, Scola, or anyone else through FA / trades. Frye walks, possibly to Chicago or NJ. We replace him with some 2nd rounder or whatever. We trade Barbosa & a first rounder in 2011 for a trade exception we don't use but that the office says we *tried really really hard to*. We sign some D-League guy and our game 1 starting PF for 2010-11 is EC.

Amare walks for nothing. Hill then decides not to stay with the Suns afterall and then Nash says he'd like to play somewhere else to end his career. The Suns get no compensation for Hill and and only garbage offers for Nash.

The Suns lose Kerr, Amare, Hill and Nash for a pocket full of peanuts.

Cashing in on Nash for some young talent is the right move for the future if Amare walks. We need to rebuild, we haven't had a rebuilding process since the 80s we are due.

We need some bad years to find our franchise player in the high lottery like the other contenders, even Boston since they build their team by smart draft picks or trading picks for star players.

I can actually see a silver lining to this move at least. The backlash would be so immense and would have a huge effect on the teams income. I could certainly see this type of move forcing Sarver to sell which I'd take in the long no matter the cost.

The thing is, it wouldn't have to be this way. The Suns were actually doing a nice job of rebuilding without a major overhaul. There is no guarantee when you rebuild you get better. A lot of luck is involved.

No way Sarver would give Barkley the GM job. The first time Sarver gave Barkley an ultimatum Barkley would throw him under the bus.

Or we could just pray that Sarver uses some of the savings to buy a first round pick that turns out to be someone like Rondo.

has Hill already officially picked up his option? I'd love to see that guy go to a club that's got a shot to win the title... Nash too.

Too late to cash in on either Nash.....or A'm'a'r'e''' for that matter.

I don't see $arver cutting ties with Nash,he knows Nash's value lies in ticket sales and the pulse of the season ticket holding fanbase.

It would take less than a year for Barkley to increase Sarver's laughing stock multiplier by 10.

a year? It would take less than a MINUTE. The second that news hit the wire, he'd be the biggest laughingstock in the sports.

IMO a Nash led 35 win club doesn't sell anymore tickets than a Dragic led 25 win team but wiping Nash's contract off the books...

Cashing in Nash for young talent? Like I said...straight cash.

that would be AMAZING.

No way he's that dumb... unless he's just trying to sell off assets to make the team more desirable to sell from a $ standpoint... which I'd be all for.

Toronto loses Bosh.

Toronto buys Nash for $3 million dollars and a second round pick. Total savings is like $14 million.

Is that possible? Can you give an example of a quality vet player being sold for cash? I'm pretty sure something would have to come back with the size of Nash's contract.
