sigh... I so miss JC's class/competitive spirit. He may never have won a title, but he did everything he could to try and win one (and brought the city it's only title in the sport where he could literally try to buy one).

No arguments there. His biggest mistakes appear to be who he let take control of those franchises. It's why I wish Arte Moreno would have bought the local teams, seems a lot like JC only with much deeper pockets.

is Arte a Phoenician? If so... come on home Arte! OC doesn't appreciate you like it should!

I seriously doubt that any such mandate exists from the league perspective. I have often heard ticket allotments as part of negotiations in player contracts. That tells me it's up to the team and has nothing to do with the league.

Never heard of tickets being negotiated in a NBA contract, happen to have any examples?

Tucson native and UofA alumni. Tried to buy D-Backs before he bought the Angels, don't know if he's ever expressed interest in owning an NBA team.

Read an article a couple years ago and at that point the Angels were worth more than double what he paid despite the fact he bought them shortly after their WS.

I don't know really. I guess the ownership group at the time just didn't want to sell to him, even though he and JC are supposedly friends.
