Still no guarantee that they won't sign Whitehurst too. I think the FO / coaches really think this is Leinarts last year given his salary bump next year. Whiz could have all 3 compete and may the best man win. My bet is Whitehurst would win that battle. Hopefully he won't go to Seattle because he'll be kicking our arse for the next 8 years.

It would be hysterical if the Cardinals did sign Whitehurst. Then many of the fans would have to start pumping up his value.

The Best of Derek Anderson

Ohh and look out for the infamous missed Antron Rolle tackle

I remember the play at the 1:55 mark or whatever. He was clearly touched on the way down and they ruled it a TD anyway.

You know this because of Whitehurst's NFL completion % over his 4 years in the league??

That's just not true. I know Anderson's completion percentage has plummeted but, like Dean Wormer said to D-Day: Charlie Whitehurst...zero point zero...HAS no completion percentage.

lol..

If anything, Anderson's 50-something % is better than Whitehurst's 0%. :D

I was referring to college

Derek Anderson 54.2% Senior year at Oregon State

Charlie Whitehurst 67.2% Senior year at Clemson

Thats a pretty big discrepancy. Anderson has furthered his history of poor completion percentage and Whitehurst we don't know what he will do.

But if you are 67.2% accuarte in college, that usually translates to being able to fit the ball pretty well into the even smaller holes that NFL defenses allow.

I just like Charlie Whithurst as a prospect I guess, despite him not being able to get on the field with Rivers being in SD.

JMHO

I think Anderson will do well here and this is a better environment for QB's then Seattle IMO, but I liked the idea of Whitehurst as a prospect with having 4 years if preparing and practicing against NFL defesnes. It isn't full proof by any means but it the way I see it.

More like a Braylon Edwards highlight film. Derek won't be seeing too many wide open receivers on this team.

Hopefully he wont be seeing too much field this season

You mean the infamous missed "down by contact" call.

That too....still, Antron should have had the presence of mind to go after him. Play through the whistle!

Ehh, we still won the game

This is a proven fact. Just look how much better everyone on here looks when's standing next to BIM at asfn meets. :)

If I ever hit the market again, I'll keep this in mind.

Edwards was such a monster that year, he's been such a disappointment since then. That laying out catch he made was incredible.

I have no problem with Anderson signing. I would have preferred Whitehurst but he was no sure thing either. At least we can draft John Skelton now ;). I wouldn't be surprised if CW's agent overplayed his hand and tried to create some kind of bidding war between the Cards and Seattle.

 ;)

Why don't we do this:

1st: Weatherspoon or McClain (oh pleasepleaseplease let him fall...work your magic, Cbus!)
2nd: Sean Lee
3rd: Mount Cody or BPA NT
3rd: BPA CB or FS/SS
4th: Skelton

Any takers? :)

Nice like the Anderson move atleast he has had a good in the nfl unlike white, plus we get to keep our draft pick which I really like :). I'm kind of excited to see if Anderson can do anything with a decent wr core especially with Fitz unlike he had in Cleveland. You better study your playbook and be ready by preseason Leinart heh. Nice signing Cards now get Joey Porter!!!

I would have no problem with that draft. I think Sean Lee will be drafted by th Cards. I am trying to get ahold of the scout from Jax who is dating a friend of my wife's to find out the scoop on McClain.

I'd be thrilled to get Lee! I was initially wary of him because of all the injury history, but it looks like he's well past all of that. It also sounds like he's quickly becoming the 2nd-ranked ILB. There's a very good chance we wouldn't be able to get him in the 2nd right now :(

Why the Sean Lee love? Guy didn't look like the same player after he wrecked his knee. I dont care what he ran at his pro-day.

Anderson stinks. I hate this signing.

I disagree in principle, because that was his first year back from injury, and he still had a solid year against some really good opposition. This coming season, I think he'll be incredible.

Oh, and he's from Penn State :)
