Kurt is a first class person. He has set the standard as a role model for others to follow. He is embarking on a new career in the media world which requires him to be a little more outspoken than his nature.
The contributions from his and his wife for community efforts speaks for itself.
We were lucky to have him as a Cardinal.

I won't disagree with any of this; but he still has his flaws.

However, this thread is about his focus on himself as the reason that the Cardinals will not three-peat.

Stay on track; what he says will have no effect on the season.

The point is: I do not agree that because he is no longer our quarterback, that the niners should be favored to win the division. He does, and evidently, you do too.

I think you got off track. Right now I'm about 50/50 on whether we or SF win the division. But, I didn't think we were talking about my prediction. Your questions were about Kurt's opinion (2nd question) and whether he has an ego (1st question).

And, since it doesn't impact the season, it's meaningless. So, it's entertainment, and if bothers you that much you might want to use the remote to change the channel when Kurt is on NFL network.

...Humility means a lot.

BOBCAT
:):D

That's the part that was sorely missing.

I wonder what the other 52 players who sweat blood for those titles feel; not to mention the coaches.

Beacause of the vacume of his leaving; might as well give the 'niners the title.

He sure had a fan with Steve M.

I like NFL network, and I like being able to write my opinon in this forum.

I will call my shot here and now; we will win the division.

I just listened to the segment and I see nothing wrong with what he said at all...

Never cared for Kurt much but seeing him with his family and all he does to help people has changed my mind. Hope he does great at the Network. I use to think he was fake but this is a really good person. What he did for the Cards speaks for itself and I will always cherish the memories.

I'm really not sure what segment you watched or listened to that bothered you. I just watched the 2 hour NFL Total Access and I thought he was pretty solid. The panel consensus was 49er's and he didn't contest it but he didn't exactly jump on their bandwagon either. For the most part, he was diplomatic on every subject he spoke on and was much less "me" oriented than ANY other ex-NFL player I've watched on this show (or ESPN's for that matter).

IF this is the same show that rubbed you the wrong way I'd suggest you may have viewed it with a bit of a bias. JMO.

Desertdawg thinks KW might be right if our QB situation is shaky in the start of the season. I think the Cards game will be pretty solid by the time we play some 9ers. Desertdawg only hopes we can beat them both times, because there is a very good chance we end up with the same record. (say 9-7?)

Jimmy might have a compound fracture.. Jimmy's going into shock!!

I'm torn on Warner - he does some good things in the community and seems like a good guy

but good grief is he painful to listen to ....... so conceited and an ego for days

i remember listening to an interview with him around the superbowl the cards played in and all he could ramble on about was how great the "greatest show on turf" was and he even rebuked the show host for not completely worshiping that group

he's always been quick to point fingers, pout, etc

not very likable on the field or behind a mic - but really good in the community

Exactly. People here are going after Warner's ego? You've gotta be kidding me.

This is good for Kurt, he's going all in on his new job and not paying any favors to his old employers. Remember in 2006 when Warner turned the ball over 4 times against St. Louis? It looked like he was still trying to play for their team. This is a good new change for Kurt Warner.

Kurt only signed to do the Wednesday night NFL show each week along with practicing everyday on his dancing for this seasons DWTS'S show.

Never watched the show before except for Emmit Smiths championship night dance that was awesome.Warner is dedicating himself fully to represent the NFL the best he can.

Kurt also has signed to do a few Fox games this season and a couple NFL Network games as he did the Areana playoff & Championship games.

Kurt knows he has'nt got it down yet,but he is doing his homework on the Cardinals as he will be doing 2 Cardinals games this season.

Kurt also has a Movie of his NFL story being put together ready to start filming Kurt will be contributing.

He was in Indy last week recieving Peyton Mannings annual benifits trophy for NFL player and his giving. So he flew in during his busy schedule to bowl with peeps he had never met before as his team placed last. Was'nt due to Kurt.

Kurt is counting bigtime on Brenda as he is in the air almost 4 times a week between practices and taping of his many shows. His first year in the Media and I assure you if you followed Kurt on twitter you'd know No One criticizes Kurt more than Kurt.He has a very low opinion of himself.Sorry you see him different as he is now asked to give his opinion.

I think an NFL player with a very large ego who does'nt give back much is Steve Young. He is a clown in MPO.

Kurt may find himself in over his head his first year in the media, but he will always be as prepared as he was for the Cardinals each game.

I have to agree with Kurts assessment due to our very weak LB crew and how thin we are and the lack of gelling we have so far on our offensive line.Kurt tweeted Matt the minute he signed with the Texans to cheer him on and show his friendship.

Kurt stays in constant contact with Larry & Dockett as he knows they are now the leaders of this team.Goodluck to DA as I hope he picks up where Kurt left off and becomes comeback player of the year.

Kurt is still very stiff and needs to relax more and thats what this year is all about as he hopes the media becomes second nature. He still made time to see his two sons Football games as one won the game ball his first game as both starred in thier first games. He;s one busy dad.All this not even including the work he does for "First Things First". Already collecting coats for peeps in St.Louis.

Just spent aweek before he went to Italy with Brenda with 11 kids from Make A Wish foundation and worked a week building 3 homes in Iowa for the charity to build homes for others.Forget their name as this post went miles longer than I ever meant it to be to let you know Kurt does all he can not to appear the way you saw him.

I can't be objective about Kurt...my ex is a Warnerphile so I automatically have an unfair bias against him.

However, if he picked the Cards to win the division--he'd be accused of being a homer. I have no problem with him being honest with his opinion. I just hope he's wrong. :)

Here is what I have noticed of 99% of any person that is successful. They love them some them. Any successful person is usually going to have a healthy opinion of themselves. Just think about it, have you ever met a successful person that was lacking in confidence of their abilities, I know I haven't. Healthy opinion of oneself doesn't have to mean you have an EGO in the negative sense of the word.

However, this thread is about his focus on himself as the reason that the Cardinals will not three-peat.

If he thinks the lack of good QB play is going to effect our chances then I see no reason for anger towards the guy. How else is he supposed to word it. "I don't see the Cards threepeating because Kurt Warner is no longer there" using himself in the 3rd person or "Downgrade in QB play could be the Cards downfall to threepeating". No matter what he would be focusing on himself as the reason, a reason that is perfectly valid.

This and next season will define Wiz career here. Either we have just a blip on the screen or Wiz career is defined as "With Warner and Post Warner". Is that unfair, not sure, but that will without a doubt be the perception if we falter the next 3 years.

Thanks Doug.

I wish I was as good a person as him. I have alway admired him and sung his praises as Cardinal and as a person. I just hope he continues to resist the temptations of pride as he works with the hollywood and network types that use whatever and whoever.

There is no doubt he has left a huge gap to fill at QB.
