I am sick of Warner already. All of these whiners can **** of Arizona as far as I am concerned. You don't see this crap happening with the Pats or Steelers. Enough is enough. KW needs the Cards more than the Cards need him.

Doesn't know why he isn't the Cards QB

Still trying to figure out what his "fair market value" is

Wants compensation to compensate for past accomplishments

Think SB XXXVI loss hurts more than SB XLIII

....wow, that was really boring

Nooooo, not boring at all. This interview really, REALLY puts Kurt in the wrong. Tried to play this 'I have no idea why this isn't done yet...we thought it would be easy' card, and then says he can't figure out what his fair market value is. Really, Kurt? That means you DO have an idea why the deal isn't done yet...BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T LET IT.

He also clearly stated he is still looking for compensation for past years. CLEARLY. This can no longer be denied.

So, to sum up, he isn't sure what he's worth yet, but he still doesn't know why he hasn't been signed by the Cards yet, and he does want compensated for the past.

Yeah, you just killed your cause with me, Kurt. Sign a fair deal or leave or retire. Your schtick is getting old.

Kind of bizarre. The only real past accomplishments that we owe him for is last season and playing hurt the season before.

I did not expect this from Kurt. I think 10 mill is more than fair

I'm starting to think that the KW deal is getting in the way of this team's long term interests. We aren't falling back on Tim Rattay, if he leaves... and settling the Dansby, Q, Wilson, Dockett issues... and adding a few key FAs, is a scenario that's looking better and better to me with each passing day.

Be careful what you wish for.

All right. Let's just give him every single cent he wants. Then give DD every single cent he wants, A-dub every single cent he wants, Q every single cent he wants, Dansby every single cent he wants, and...wait, we won't have any money left for the rest of the team! Precedent: be careful what you wish for.

Ten suggested moves for the 49ers as they prepare to visit with Kurt Warner:

  • Enlist Isaac Bruce to meet Warner at the airport.
  • Promise to sign Torry Holt if and when the Rams release him.
  • Promise to sign Orlando Pace if and when the Rams release him.
  • Lure Dick Vermeil out of retirement as an offensive consultant.
  • Inform Jimmy Raye that he'll need to brush up on the Mike Martz playbook.
  • Make sure Warner knows the 49ers play as many as five games indoors this season.
  • Promise to pay off Shaun Hill to part with No. 13.
  • Remind Warner that he would play four games against his former teams in 2009.
  • Sign Trent Green as a veteran backup.
  • Tell center Eric Heitmann to start working on shotgun snaps.
And I'm sure you have a few more. Let's have some fun with it.

After the Cardinals won the NFC Championship; remember when Kurt included the bit "for all of you who believed in me" after he said the same thing about the Cardinals, I kind of went "huh?".

I thought it sounded strange at the time. I noticed that it, like many other things Kurt says, was later edited out of audio and video trailers.

Kurt's "me against the world" thing kind of bugs me, considering all the other Cardinals that gave up blood and sweat to have a great 2008 season.

I like Kurt, I hope he comes back, but he is not helping anyone but himself right now and that means the Cardinals have to look out for themselves, too. The Cardinals have plenty of other guys to give money to left, after Kurt stays or leaves.

If he wants compensation for past accomplishments then the Cardinals should drop the offer for him completely sucking in 2005 and 2006. They should also deduct $$ off the offer for fumbling when he should have thrown the ball away or taking a sack instead of getting rid of the ball, or for making dumb throws in double or triple coverage. If that's the case I think a 2 year $4 million incentive laden contact is fair.........

Not the same. Warner is here for two more years, if that. That's it.

Completely the same because the length of the contract is completely irrelevant. If we cave and give Warner every single cent he demands, then every single player will think they can milk us for every single cent that they want. I do not want us to set that dangerous precedence for Warner, nor do I want us to give him a huge contract when he might suddenly fall off in talent due to age, leaving us with a big cap number in a second season where he may not even be the starter. Huge contract for one year=fine with me (as long as it doesn't kill us this year). Huge contract for two years=stupid IMO.

No, that's up to the FO when or IF they give into the demands of a player still under contract.

Warner is a FA. A FA who led his team to the the conference championship and any kind of championship for the organization for the first time since 1947.

Agree with you about the second season cap # hit.
