Kyle thinks we should beat Miami first, then consider becoming buyers at the trade deadline

He would still be the best defensive front player we have. If you are waiting for the perfect blend of talent, contract, and fit, you will be like Monti...still waiting and doing nothing.

Probably but there are better options. I think I'm pretty sensible when it comes to trades and comp value but I'm not giving up anything of value for 35 year old Cam Jordan.

But mainly Saints aren't trading Cam. Would be like us trading Larry to the Browns just before he retired for a 7th round pick. Fans would murder the front office.

I'd just send a 4th with an extension tied in for Azeez.

That's what he's going to cost because he has 5/6 sacks on the season (depending who you ask) and Giants likely get at least a 4th back in comp picks after FA.

The only wrinkle is if Monti thinks coming to play with his brother gives him the Edge in FA, and he might want to go spend that 4th elsewhere and wait on Azeez for next year if he's interested.

Someone like Jonathan Cooper from Denver is the other option. SImilar situation to Ojulari. FA after this year, 5.5 sacks so far, 8.5 last year. A better strategy might be go get Cooper and wait on Azeez.

I see zero chances of getting Cooper from Denver

Im still holding out hope for Crosby.

I know.......Dreamins free

It's been a fun discussion around the league of late that Maxx Crosby could be had in a trade. But it was always unfounded pipe dreams type stuff. On Saturday, Raiders owner Mark Davis put an end to those hopes, telling ESPN's Adam Schefter that the team will not be trading Crosby either before or after the deadline.

Cam Jordan is 35 years old and doesn't have a sack this season. I think he is at the end of his career. All time great though and is from Chandler, Az.

I don't think the Saints could afford to trade him as his prorated cap hit would be accelerated partially to this season ($11.5M). Not sure they have anyone else that they could restructure this season to fit that cap hit.
Cam is about the $ & will play out his contract but he also wants to go into the booth & be on the screen more. I think he still gives all his effort in games though & might be enough with DRob coming back to help. You may be right though & could be trade prohibitive for the Saints.

POTENTIAL Trade Proposal for Arizona Cardinals: Trade sixth-round pick to Tennessee Titans for edge Arden Key

Earlier in the season it appeared the Cardinals would have been better off being sellers to improve the defense for the future. But Arizona now leads the wide-open NFC West thanks to coach Jonathan Gannon getting the most out of his defense, which is short on recognizable names. The Cardinals could create some separation in the division standings if they add a quality edge rusher. The 28-year-old Key remains a productive player while playing for the struggling one-win Titans. He has three sacks this season, and was a standout player for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021, but has gotten lost playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Titans the past three seasons.

Actually this is a good call, not a name I considered.

Can we edit this, please? First read tells me he is now on our team.

Man, for a second I thought this move had actually happened.
