Do you seriously think Monti is going to do anything?
No he won't as he is not proactive. IMO although we are mostly negative on former GM Keim, he was proactive and would go after and get an edge rusher at this time if he was still in charge. I'm not saying he is a better GM just that he made moves during the season while MO is reluctant to do anything.

Passive type of gm is what Michael Bidwill was looking for

I wouldn't expect anything soon, the trade deadline is next Tuesday. Unless someone is blowing you out of the water with a deal why do a trade already? It's in the seller's interest to let options dwindle and more parties show their interest. Plus there's another game this week which could lead to more injuries and more desperate teams. It's why most trades are done around the deadline.

The Uche trade was really dumb by the Patriots. Low return taken early, they could easily have got better had they waited. Chiefs bent them over.

Some possible recent draft picks that haven't worked out that I reckon might be available.

Myles Murphy - Bengals - Former first round pick is still only getting 40% of snaps and hasn't lived up draft position, is 4th on the depth chart.
Isaiah Foskey - Saints - Last years 2nd round pick is playing 6% of snaps and is 5th on their depth chart.

Both of these would be reclamation projects where you hope a change of scheme suits them.

I don't want to hear about how hard MO worked to get a deal for an edge rusher if he fails at it.

I don't care about your hard work I care about your results.
And you know we are going to hear all of the excuses. "Have to have someone who wants to trade" "Needs to be the right fit" "Compensation demands were just too high"

Not sure we know enough about Monti to make this statement yet. Team wasn’t 4-4 this time last year.

Wild you’d claim St Brown as anything but the number 1 there… also wild that you would take that as insult rather than a captain obvious statement. I guess I struck a nerve
You obviously have me confused with someone else. I never says anything about St Brown. I actually agree with you that he is their number 1.

Those are not excuses...hearing them as such is a mindset. They are reasons.

Posit a what if...
What if the only trade available is Azeez...but the giants recognize desperation and have multiple suitors... so their bottom line price is a 2nd and a 5th...or go crazy and say they are demanding a 1st....
You, me, and many others would bash the hell out of Monti for making either of those deals....without even an "at least he is trying" consolation.

The deal has to be there and it has to make sense.

From my perspective any deal that includes one of our top picks this year has to involve a name like Crosby, Parsons,Garrett, etc...granted I would give all three of our top picks plus some for any of those guys.
But we can't be paying top tier picks for third tier players regardless of public perception or current team needs.

Not to mention last season was obviously a tear it down and establish a culture year.
This year we are building.
I'm mostly curious to see if Monti trades for a long term guy or a one year rental
