Just a terrible look the day before the draft. Better have a damn good excuse.

My train of thought - just be there, unless it’s a crisis or you’re on your deathbed. The other 21 guys who showed up would die to be considered the #1 pick. Murray can’t big-time these events.

I agree 100%… In any excuse coming from his PR team is going to be fishy

Oh there will be a full on spin job for sure...he was probably pulling orphans out of a house fire or finding the cure for cancer and lost track of time.

Irrelevant. All of you need to start throwing up in your mouth a little bit to get used to the taste when he is the pick.

He's clearly gotten a lot of questionable advice during this pre-draft cycle. No showing a lot of events when everyone else is there, trying to miserly defend the hope of #1 and not screwing something up.

On its own->

Height can be discounted
Physical build can be discounted
Awkward interviews can be discounted
A low Wonderlic score can be discounted
Questions about leadership can be discounted
Backing off from measurements on pro-day can be discounted
Not showing up for Charity events can be discounted
"LaVar" like helicopter parents can be discounted

At some point, The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts, no?

Please do not forget that the Oakland A's would welcome him back with open arms if football gets too tough

If anyone listened to the interview with Palmer & Warner that I posted, you would have heard them talk about being a franchise QB is so much more than what happens on Sundays. This type of stuff is what is expected of the face of a franchise, if he can't bother to show now what will he do once he has his money?

Dude could murder a man in plain sight and you’d commend him on the accuracy of his shot.
I didn't condone it.. but I also don't claim to know the answers and reasons of why he wasn't there, which it seems you are doing.

That wasnt even my point...either. I was just poking fun and voicing my opinion that it is irrelevant, because he's the pick regardless of showing up for an event. That's all.

What if the cards told him he won’t be #1 and he and his agent are realizing he might free fall and he is butthurt. That would be my guess. If the cards don’t take him #1 he may fall into the late teens or 20’s like Rodgers and Brady Quinn.

It’s already been posted I think it was by Florio stating that if he stops showing up to pre-draft events it could mean he’s been told he won’t be picked number one.

This board = Insanity level 1 billion.
That's why as a long time lurker, I just couldn't miss the opportunity to get in on this....lol fun stuff. What other reason is there to come to a message board, if there isn't a little bit of drama? (Or a lot if it, in this case) Haha

So Florio is a good source now when he is reporting anti Murray narrative stuff?
