I expect LA to win the finals but certainly keep my fingers crossed for the Celtics. A far more likeable team.
KG is even respected in his heated battles with Amaré. If I could ask for a team to play in, KG and Allen would be in my first five. Two guys all about the team game and the opposite of Bryant whom I just find disgusting and a shame for the game.
I remember when the rumors came about him coming to Phoenix in 2004 and still start to shiver at that thought.
If I look at the most disliked players in the league, I see him on the same level as Bruce Bowen. Probably even lower.
I just can't cheer for that bloke and would even have a hard time to barrack for my national team if I was US American.
Whenever I read about Bryant, I remember his game 7 against Phoenix which erased all doubst about misjudging his character.
I wouldn't even dislike the Lakers if it wasn't for Bryant, I guess. I never cared for them before this self-loving rookie started to fire air-balls in the playoffs against Utah and.... well you all get the point - I just don't like him.
Regarding the Celtic's "starpower", I think the Lakers are right on the same level.
Odom has about the same influence on a game as Allen, and Gasol's 19 rebounds, 4 blocks and 6 assists in game 6 made clear where he stands.
The Lakers seem to have a deeper team, more talent and a better coach. All they missed the last years was for Bryant to control his ego. Imagine him having the character of KG (or at least not the most selfish attitude in the league) - Shaq would have stayed and the Lakers probably would have won 6 or 7 straight titles without their internal fights.
