Maybe Al Davis was right about this guy after all. Seeing that I despise USC, they are a match made in heaven.

Bad move by USC. Why would they sign a coach that seems to be accused of recruiting violations every thirty seconds when they are being watched by the NCAA?

Kiffin and Orgeron learned how to cheat under Carroll. They just wanted some continuity. Mike Garrett didn't want to have go through the whole process of teaching a new coach how to break rules. If Kiffin could have gotten a few more violations his first year,Garret may have offered him more money.

To me the worst part of this story is Lane Kiffin imploring recruits committed to USC to honor their commitment and stay Trojans. Meanwhile in Tennessee Ed Orgeron was imploring UT recruits to "decommit and come with us to USC." In fact today is the first day of classes at UT and several recruits were to graduate HS early and enroll at UT and start today, and Orgeron encouraged those kids to NOT enroll at UT but instead go to USC.

Talk about hypocrisy, tell the USC recruits to honor their commitment while one of your coaches is trying to poach recruits from Tenn?

This whole situation was ugly and a big kick in the nuts to an already rebuilding program. Tennessee is going to struggle for a while now. As much as I hate to give the devil his due, USC came away from the Carroll departure better especially when you consider the looming NCAA hammer.

Incoming staff: Norm Chow, Monte Kiffin, Ed Ogereon, Dat Nyugen, Junior Seau (rumor)

That's a damn good haul. Can't wait to see how that situation works out.

One thing for certain is that it SUCKS to be Bryce Brown right now.

i don't know if i remember right but didn't he kind of do the same thing by committing to Miami(i think) and then backed out of it to go to Tennecheat?

Way to dump Tennessee after one year.

I live in LIttle Rock which is SEC country. Even here this is big time news and on the talk radio shows all day long. He is looked upon as a leper or worse in nearly all the SEC sections of the nation. At Tennessee the students have even been burning mattresses. I am surprised that USC would do this. If a guy will do it with one team he will do it with another. It all may backfire on him as USC is under investigation for some irregularities and could end up with some sanctions. This could effect recruiting. All this is likely why Pete Carol left in a hurry. His NFL record was marginal at best and I can think of nothing that would make him leave a school where he was almost a legend and making FOUR AND ONE HALF million a year. In the NFL it is produce real quick or you are history. Glad to see him at Seattle personally as there were a lot better guys they could have got. John Gruden would not even come out of the booth for the USC or Seattle job. Is this big news out west? As I wrote it is headlines even in Arkansas. I think the guy is sort of a scum bag to leave Tennessee in this position at this time with recruiting and likelihood of recruits backing out. There are also allegations that his assistants he is taking with him are calling recruits already and telling them not to sign.

Bobby Petrino/Nick Saban Jr.

I live in Arkansas and have heard the Petrino rumors. I really do not see it happening. Arkansas has its star receiver coming back and not going into the draft. It also has its standout receiver Damien Williams coming back after being invited to the combine. He wants his degree. Nearly all of the OL and DL are back so look for Arkansas to be a very good team next year.

Petrino came here with all he hound dogs on his tail for leaving Atlanta. I would not think he would want to add to that legend. He has come to be a favorite in Arkansas and has definitely upgraded this team. We won our bowl game this year for the first time in some years. He is great on TV interviews and a quiet guy at least off the field. He is gifted in calling plays which he does. His brother which was his long time coordinator, just left for a head coaching job. He just brought in a Tennessee coach. We really like him here as he also is a good recruiter with that with his pro background help him bring in guys who think they might be NFL material. Arkansas pays rather well considering we are a poor state. Most of the coaches salary is paid by the Arkansas Football Foundation who are not affiliated with the university when it comes to money. At the moment he is riding a tidal wave.
