Cardinals GM Rod Graves says his focus will now turn to extending Fitz's contract. Will try to talk to agent Eugene Parker today.

Graves is confident that if Fitz is sincere about staying in AZ, a deal will be reached b4 the start of the season.

Graves can feel free to avoid questioning Fitz' sincerity in public.

No, still talking. RT @TheXgasm: @kentsomers If focus is turned to Fitz, does that mean any chance of Braylon is dead?

Does this mean no Braylon Edwards? And on topic whatever #11 wants he should get.

Check my post above yours... No Larry shouldn't get WHATEVER he wants. To say so is kind of silly really.

Before you make too much of the Graves "comment", keep in mind it was not a quote. He could easily have said something like "Larry has stated he would like to stay a Cardinal forever and if that's the case we're going to come in with the right offer to make that happen". I seriously doubt he actually questioned Larry's integrity.

Fitz had a tweet congratulating Manning on his big contract. Then he said it inspired him to work even harder at practice. With a "lol" which in this case is the same as a "wink".

Oh, yeah. They are talking $$$. (Actually, I think they've been talking $$$.)

Cardinals GM Rod Graves has turned his focus to a long-term extension for Larry Fitzgerald.

The Cardinals followed through on their end of the bargain, landing the major QB upgrade requested by Fitz. Discussions will commence immediately, and Graves hopes to have his franchise receiver locked up before the start of the season. Fitzgerald will become the highest-paid player in franchise history as well as one of the highest-paid in the league, according to Graves.

I think the last week shows that the "little FO that could" is capable of doing more than one thing at a time.

Maybe it shows that the Cardinals aren't that stupid and aren't wasting money on overhead employees like other teams are.

Priority #1 is locking up Fitz, NOT signing Edwards... I am totally fine if it turned out that we couldn't sign Edwards as a result of extending Fitz!!!!

Should be able to do both.

Perhaps... but, we certainly don't know all of the details. I agree at face value, it would seem pretty simple to get them done simultaneously... especially in light of what we have seen this team accomplish in just the past week!
However, when it's all said and done, if it worked out that we couldn't grab Edwards because we needed to focus on Fitz - I'm cool with that...

Our ownership/front office has shown a commitment this offseason to building a successful team in the long-term and it definitely sounds like we aren't planning to go cheap in a contract offer... so I see no reason why this shouldn't happen. Hopefully, right?!

Lets just hope that he doesn't suddenly become the ONLY focus on the roster. We still have a little work to do at filling holes.

Larry Fitzgerald suggested that he will be more open to signing long-term in Arizona now that the front office has worked hard to improve the roster.

"It's my time to win the NFC West. That's my focus," said Fitzgerald. "It's between Rod [Graves] and my agent from this point on. ... Life is good. We have a quarterback, tight end, and I couldn't be happier with the way this team is coming together." Fitzgerald will become the highest-paid receiver in the NFL once his extension is finalized.

I heard the figure $80 mil on NFL Network this afternoon. Have no idea what part of thin air they pulled that number out of.

Tell Larry we'll give him 60millon plus Shane and BIM as "personal assistants" for life and not a penny more!
