That was one of the most fun NFL games I have ever been in attendance. I will always remember that game and there are quite a few Vikes fans who will too.

How could anyone forget a game that resulted in one of our players being given the key to the City of Green Bay?

Absolutely! Not to mention thats just the way it should be. :)

So if I challenge you to a contest and the prize is to be shot in the head. Do you try to win? Not having Rivers was being shot in the head and the 20 plus year saga of the Cards trying to find a Qb continues where one loss and the search was over. You have to look at what you get by winning in my book.

I have found it is impossible to argue this logic with a type A so I realize I am wasting my breath. God I wish the world had fewer type As. Competition for competition's sake is pointless and can be very damaging as seen in the perpetual arms races throughout history. Nothing personal meant to you.

Get back to me when the Cardinals prove to be drafting gurus.

Trade Fitzgerald for picks. Lose for a better slotted picks.

Seriously? Seriously.

Why? So we draft some bum that will not help us anyway ?

To read posts year after year on how bad the Cardinals are at drafting and then to read posts and threads about doing high risk moves to obtain or improve picks is just way too hypocritical for me.

You play to win the game. If not, then you better have a 100% fool proof reason that will win you 100 games for the one game thrown.

To throw a game, to give the message it is OK to give up, in a game like football is the absolute worst thing you can do.

As for a competition for a shot in the head ? Find another example, cause that makes no sense at all, on any level.

I wouldn't say I'm Type A, and I have no interest in losing on purpose because...it's a game. I realize there are larger personnel strategies at work, but the other thing is that I think it's much more important to make the right pick with the pick you have--because draft history is littered with bad picks in the top 5.

Also, if you lose on purpose you are screwing with your overall mentality, IMO. To use the same old examples, I don't think the Steelers and Patriots would lose on purpose for a pick. Hell, the Pats would probably trade down anyway.

I could just imagine the coach walking in to the locker room explaining how he wants the players to lay an egg and lose on purpose. Oh and try not getting hurt in the process. I'm sure that would go over well.

Now people who bitch about the Bidwill way of running the team want them to tell their team to lose on purpose.

I like the Skelton approach so far out of the responses. Let him go in and show us why we should not to draft a QB in the first. We should always go in trying to win.

If Skelton blows it, (I'd hope he has had a little bit of time on the field before this game in this scenario) then we would probably lose and get the better pick , which could be crucial not having to jockey a trade to move ahead of the stinking 9ers. :)

So what happens if both us and the 9ers end up tied in our records and having no shot of getting in the play-offs when we meet in Frisco?
Play for pride or draft spot?
Crazy question I know, but this looks like it might happen.
LOL, now it's gonna happen. I still want the win, go Cards!
