Here is something to support a possible switch theory.

Interesting. I wonder if we'd pursued an Ariza to Memphis deal prior separate from the Washington trade?

Forget the Suns fans, it's just the wrong time to throw one more negative into the current Suns PR nightmare. Maybe if there'd been good reason but it was clear LA was not going to move anyone of consequence and nobody wants KCP.

We really don’t know if there was a better deal or not since the owner is not willing to deal with all teams (allegedly).

Maybe the Grizzlies got cold feet and thought the Suns would let it go?

If this tells us anything it's that there was no way a deal would have pleased some of this fickle fanbase. There seriously was no way that James Jones could trade Ariza for anything less than All-Star that would have made people happy. Doing the deal got him bashed and not doing the deal is now getting him bashed. Perhaps the problem isn't Jones so much as the expectations that some people have.

Perhaps the problem is NO ONE has said, intimated or implied ANYTHING like the above but you keep making fake arguments up from thin air and then call people ******** or accuse them of being drunk when they point out that you keep making crap up to throw at people who you disagree with. You're creating straw man arguments left and right and you don't have to be drunk to see that, but maybe you have to be drunk to keep making them.

The difficulty of making a trade with LA was reported more than a week ago, long before the backlash from the Arena issue put us under this magnifying glass.

I really like Dillon Brooks. He would have made the deal worth it imho...As long as the Suns promised to not actually play Austin Rivers. This team is already tough enough to watch without Rivers running it. One of my least favorite players in the league.

It wasn’t reported a week ago that Sarver was unwilling to send Ariza to LA. It was that the return wasn’t right for the Suns. Hopefully the David Aldridge tweet was being dramatic b/c Ariza was reportedly heading to Washington at that moment.

It's like reliving the second round.

Scary if true that Sarver has the potential to turn down a better deal for stupid reasons.

Like Popovich who said the same thing regarding trading Leonard to the Lakers. I don't blame any owner or GM who doesn't want to make it easy for the Lakers.

What joke... I've not read up on the particulars, but I suspect this is what you get when your GM has less experience than someone playing franchise mode in NBA2k for a few years.

we can say one thing with 100% certainty... for being the worst franchise in the league, by hook or by crook, this team is a never ending source of entertainment.

Now you've lost me as that's exactly my point. The "no trade to LA command" just came down as far as I know. The difficulty in LA finding a 3rd team to deal with has been known for awhile. So when Sarver said, anywhere but Laker land, he was already aware there was no real value in dealing with LA.
