I heard that Gee! knew this guy whose cousin's wife's sister-in-law's former roommate knew a guy that worked for Keebali...so I thought Gee! was our vbookie representative.
Yes, I figured that out. It was Kate.
Wait -- How the heck does vBookie take 5% if vBookie isn't operational, hmmm? And where does the 5% GO?
I mean, not like I'll ever be able to spend a trillion-plus anyhow. Just my Scottish genes coming out.
What are we playing? Im just trying to get these people vbookie working properly. But your reply to me is pretty discouraging.. I wasnt aware mods were alowed to talk down on people... You really set the bar low there guy...
Guys...
I'm truly sorry about the lack of communication with Keebali. The fact of the matter is, I may not be here much but I try to pay attention to what problems you are having so this site keeps going.
However, I have no ability to edit stuff, add things like vBookie, etc. Keebali does it all, so all I can do it ask them for help.
They haven't responded to ME either...since I emailed them 3 days ago.
Ugh.
Mike
Sorry, but I didn't get email notifications for PMs. I just noticed that I have PM's wating.
I've issued a fix that to my understanding should solve vBookie's problem. Please report back any other problem.
i would be willing to run the back end vbookie.
ASFNer's
I regret the feelings of abandonment... and I understand where they are coming from. We are committed to having ASFN up and available 99.9% of the time but we can't invest much more than that at this time.
vBookie seems to be a can of worms. A couple of days (weeks at best) after we bring it up - it causes a performance issue that threatens to bring the site down. We've invested quite a bit of time trying to trouble shoot the multiple issues that have surfaced, and there always seems to be a new one around the corner.
We are happy to give it another go and bring vBookie up, but with your understanding that if it cause issues - we will take it down again for good. Or until we find time to trouble shoot it more thoroughly which wont be any time soon.
Perhaps we should reset vBookie completely and start with a simple set-up... We are happy to check if we can give back-end administration capabilities over vBookie to DCR or someone else that has experience and wants to give it a try. Perhaps there is something in the vBookie salary calcs that we've set up that are too complex and creates load spikes on the server... I truly don't know that would solve the problem but it is the best we can offer you.
I'll be out till Sunday but I'll check this thread then.
i would be willing to run the back end vbookie.
Maybe a heads up when the site is going down?
It's the little things in life after all.
I think the problem that you are going to run into is that there are contributors to this board that paid money on the premise that would allow them to create vbookie events. Are you going to be willing to make a partial refund of their money if you are forced to take vbookie down?
You've done that before DCR - right? Pls let me know but assuming you have I'll check if we can sort the security privileges to give you access to that area.
I understand your request but you should consider that when the site has gone down - it is not like if we've done scheduled maintenance without letting you know... It's primarily because vBookie or vBcredits has caused a spike load that we didn't know in advance.
I have done vBookie administration in the past.
Any way to enable the savings feature? IMO this would allow a solution to the quadrillion issue a lot of people are having.
Is it more than a matter of the savings limit just being set at "0"?
We will be resetting the entire vBookie system and starting from scratch. (Hopefully done by early next week)
I will look into the savings feature to see if it is causing any problems as soon as we can work out the hiccups in my access.
Thanks,
About time you did something of note around here
Hiccups in your access? Gross.
