Multiple teams have reportedly made phone calls to the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants inquiring about potential trade-up scenarios for the No. 2 and No. 3 picks in the 2025 NFL draft. ESPN's Peter Schrager reported the news on Tuesday.

Most would likely assume the interest would be in Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but according to Schrager, teams are calling for Penn State's Abdul Carter, Colorado's Travis Hunter and Boise State's Ashton Jeanty.

"There have been phone calls made to both the Browns at [No.] 2 and the Giants at [No.] 3 with the intention to move up with several different sources telling me there are teams who are looking to get up in this draft to either the two or three spot," Schrager said on ESPN's "Get Up." "The assumption being, to move up to the two or three spot, it would be for Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter or the running back, Ashton Jeanty, who everyone expects to go somewhere in that five to seven to eight range."

The timing for the sudden trade talk feels about right with the draft slated to kick off on Thursday night.

However, if teams are suddenly interested in the top-three picks, one has to wonder if interest could grow at No. 4 as well, depending on what player is left on the board. Would a team consider trading up with the Patriots to get one of those top-tier players?

Could the Patriots be one of the teams considering trading up? It seems unlikely on the surface, but they could shake things up in a major way if they added a generational talent, like Hunter or Carter, to their roster.

Things are heating up ahead of draft night.
