He's got - what? - ten years worth of NFL experience.

So he brings veteran ability.

What about special teams?

Interesting video here -- Philip Wheeler blitzing (2013 Raiders) and getting to Matt Ryan (Falcons) in a flash causing a floater and who intercepts it? Tyvon Branch.

Sounds like some veteran ILB insurance in case Bucannon isn't ready to start the season. I would've stuck with Sio Moore, but maybe there were money/playing time/attitude problems there.

He was terrible in preseason. I have no idea why they keep grabbing him. He's lost much of his speed & agility. He's a vet, but not a good one anymore.

!00% agree and saw the same thing. Does he even play STs? What a waste of a roster spot.

He is an important person to hold down the inactives list week to week, if he is even on the roster at that time.

I'm sure there is a few Kerwynn Williams ones we can use the template for :)
What I find strange is what the team does with these guys who they apparently feel is pretty good but not quite good enough to keep on the roster, but is one of the first to resign when they need to fill a roster spot, yet no other team ever touches them. If they are that border line in talent why do we never see another team sign them? You would think that out of 31 other teams, one of them would have a need for a player of this type or do they all do this? Are these guys getting paid to just sit and wait or are they really not that good but for whatever reason the coaches take a liking to them.
