This is a very good signing. It will go largely unsung, but it's solid.

Cool.

Anybody have info on him?

  • A ninth-year player who has handled the Broncos’ long-snapping duties for every game during the past five years and has the ability to be used as a tight end.
  • Contributed 26 career tackles on special teams, including six stops on coverage units in each of the last two years that tie for his single-season career high.
  • Is the only current Bronco to play every game (84 / 80 regular season, 4 postseason) for the club during the last five seasons.
  • Recovered a muffed punt return in the fourth quarter of Denver’s AFC Divisional Playoff Game win against New England (1/14/06) to set up a Broncos touchdown.
  • Played 19 regular-season games with Tennessee from 2000-01 as a long snapper and saw brief action for the club at tight end.
  • Earned first-team Walter Camp All-America honors as a senior at William & Mary after setting its single-season record for catches (58) by a tight end as a junior.
  • Joined the Broncos as a free agent on Nov. 4, 2002.
  • Entered the NFL with Tennessee as a college free agent on May 3, 2000.

Yea Urban's blog just threw a wet blanket over any kind of free agent buzz.

Weak group to start with AND the way a team is built is through the draft. If I was signing the checks , I would hire the best scouts out there....and that is something the team finally started to do durin gthe Graves administration, before that the team but little to no emphasis on that, oh yeah they used to subscribe to the $20 draft reports people buy,

The only question needing answered is, "Is Leach an improvement over Hodel?"

On the surface, it appears that he is; better production in ST tackles, and he can operate a bit as a TE! Of course if he screws up even once in snapping we'll be screaming for someone's head for getting rid of Hodel... :)

You know the funny thing is that in the past you could never go by what the organization said about free agency. The year they signed Edge they told us not to expect anything in free agency and then BAM they signed EJ. They lie to us sometimes!

They do need a DT (Antonio Smith), either in FA or the Draft. I expect CC to be the starter, but the only depth at the two DT positions is Kenny Iwebema, unless the team thinks that Jason Banks can play the position. Wright seems like a good possibility.
